I had to read the page on Wired a couple times - apparently it's based on a TV show called "Community."
(doesn't go off on his usual rant about how not watching TV makes you a social outcast in modern society)

On the NBC TV series 'Community' the characters of Troy and Abed often pretend to do a morning show. Their catch phrase is "Troy and Abed in the moooorrrrnnniiiinnngggg!"
The character of Annie often interjects herself into the 'show' much to the dismay of Troy and Abed.

I really want to buy a print but I'm not good at getting things framed. My Vigo painting is still in the tube two years later.

I have this picture framed on my wall: Got it at PAX a couple years ago, signed. Poster cost me $10, the frame (nicer than in this picture) was $130.

$130? Does it have UV glass or something? That looks like it's what, 20x30?
Frame prices are why I go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby every time I get a 50% off coupon or see a sale on them. Damn things are a pretty penny.

I have the former and had to try really hard not to buy five of the latter from an old guy at a craft sale Sunday. (Rabbet and molding planes = picture frames cheap)

Heh, you would love my Dad's little collection then Sky. When my paternal grandfather passed away, my Dad inherited his collection of old tools. He has been spending a chunk of his retirement time restoring them, and has since made a little museum in his garage to showcase the collection for local hobby shows and the like. He has ab out 50 of those large wood planes, as well as a butload of other woodworking and metal working tools.

This is one of my long-term goals. However, I need to get out of this house first, there's no room in the garage for a good work area and I don't have a basement. The problem is that nobody wants to buy in my area. Four houses have been for sale 6 months now and a fifth just went up yesterday in my little neighborhood of 55 homes.

I started rabbeting frames with my router table the other day but I have to say that the self-squaring frame clamp I bought is really a pain to use.

One reason I went with craftsman style, even though I'm not into advanced joinery. Lots of butt joints. So I can make nice looking stuff that's faked with butt joints and then as I learn to hand-cut mortises (yeah, some more capital outlay for a decent saw and set of chisels, I'm a hand tool ho) I can make some amazing stuff. Hell, I hand cut most of the stuff I've done, I only just got a cheap (free) table saw because I had to rip a sliver off a 6' board that would've been a pita with my big ol vintage ripsaw.

Yea, I got sucked in on the fancy upgrades Next time I'll be better prepared. Would love to do my own framing, I love woodwork, but I don't even remotely have the space.

Nah, don't think of it as sucked-in. It truly makes a difference if you're hanging it anywhere near a window. I've got a few prints that are damaged pretty badly because I didn't invest in the UV glass. If they had just been your typical $10-$15 posters you can replace anytime, no big deal.
