If you buy stuff for her at Buckle, she'll appreciate it a lot more later. From what I can tell, it all costs around the same (Hot Topic is overpriced SHIT).

She's more of a Pac Sun person.  I hope to god she grows out of it.

I also agree about the "overpriced SHIT" comment.  It's really about getting her what she wants at this point.  I encourage her to develop her own style... even if it does end up with her lookign like everyone else.

The shit they have in Hot Topic was pretty cool, before there was a Hot Topic (not the stupid Marvel button ups) the shit that was ether hard to find, or you had to make yourself, like wallet chains and the spiked bracelets and shit. Also all the band stuff. But I think by definition the fact that Hot Topic exists makes that shit not cool anymore.

You could always find that shit if you knew where to look. Concerts, Commander Salamander. Hot Topic just put it into malls.

Also, fat girls kills fads. But then, they cloistered them to Torrid. What a fucking great name for the fatties store.

Yeah, it was really hard to find that shit in Orange County back in the early 90's. We had one punk store that was like a 45 minute drive and every month or so we would all get really stoned and make the drive up there to buy a bunch of shit. Other than that most of my punk shit that I had I made myself.

I didn't even flinch.  Besides, I was playing bars in bands during the 80's and I didn't see anything much like that in the picture.

Piano ties, check.

White sports coats, check.

Leg warmers, check.

Half my wardrobe is hoodies.  In Seattle, you might need a hat at a moment's notice.  It's nice when that hat is attached to your jacket.  Easy to find.

If you were a true Seattleite you would just sack up and let it rain on your head.

I had a pair of parachute pants back in the 80's.  The tight red kind with black zippers like sammy hagar wore.  All our jeans and pants were way too tight  awesome, for real

I have to admit, that jacket you showed me a while back (above) is pretty awesome looking.

I'd actually pick up a couple of their button-downs if they weren't a seizure-inducing level of busy and had sizes other than small awesome, for real.

I'm really not digging the pattern on the side trend I'm seeing in a lot of t's and other shirts. And I already have a problem with logos in general -- especially one on the back of a blazer.

That jacket is hot as shit in real life. And yea, a few designs get reused on a few things. That reaping picture was reused on a hoodie (with different colors) and then on a tee.

Wearing that right now. It's actually a light grey-blue.

It seems people have forgotten what "loud" is.

This is loud:

Also, I wore this jacket over the shirt.

75%+ of the time, I'm wearing a blazer or light jacket over these shirts. I'm not kidding when I say they are ULTRA COMFY.

Like, go try one on. If you prefer the less distressed look (and much cheaper), try out Archaic.

For reals, this shit is more comfy than triple mercerized $100+ polos from Macys.

Edit: By the way, some of the affliction stuff is, truly, loud. And I wouldn't wear it. For the most part, I avoid loud.

This is the loudest shirt I have from them:

But it's fucking awesome.

This, for example, I would not wear:

lol I'm sure if you repeat it enough, someone here will drop the hefty dough for one. It is true though- you get what you pay for. Just don't eat sloppy joes with them if you're a sloppy eater  smiley

They also go pretty well with long sleeve, button down shirts if you're the kind of guy who like to roll up his sleeves.

Stu, was that admitting that you wear this shit?

Isn't it like wearing clouds?

The only shirts I've ever worn that were this comfy were form the H&M america launch back in like 1998. Or 2001. Whatever. Point being, they're awwwwwwwwwwwwesome.

The closest I have is one of the super-soft King of Prides shirts, and yeah, they're well worth the dough. I usually layer it with something else, becuase I'm low-key like that.

If shirts could be like marshmallows, these would be them.

Anyone looking to make a casual addition to their wardrobe should buy at least one.

Yep. And now you can make a clever Videogame/Historical Japanese reference with the new series Affliction has.

Basically, it's the 108 stars of Suikoden. They're $66 a piece and drawn/painted by the foremost tattoo master in Japan.

You can't tell me that wouldn't be hot as shit with a pair of jeans and a light khaki jacket.

Edit: Also, I found the place that distresses and grinds the tees for Affliction - it's in Cali, called RJ Apparel or something. Anyway, just an idea as to why they're so expensive at retail - the shirts with nothing printed on them are like $30-$40 a piece. It's just, simply, expensive clothing. Marshmallows is a good description though.

SpiralDirect is win. Pretty much the only thing I've been wearing for years. Haven't really found good dragon themed shirts anywhere else that don't look retarded and aren't BLACK.
