Cheddar, if nothing else is like being on IRC with a better interface and cool music. As someone said elsewhere, EVE is the best looking chat client ever.

On top of that, you can pewpew and chatchat on vent when the time for operations comes. A time usually made of ship exploding, carebear whining and us getting away with the loot.

This is... amazing.  I am almost (almost) tempted to fire it up again.  Yeah, I played at some point.

Give it a shot Cheddar, its worth it for the vent alone, the accents are great.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

I applied to the corp as Fentry Mix.   It's still sitting unprocessed.  The promised chat channel didn't happen!

Witty banter not included.

Promised chat channel don't even need for you to be in the corp. Just click on the left sidebar, "chat channels" button. Select "join channel" and type in f13. That's where we entertain spies.

Falconeer's advice will give you the chat channel.  The OP will tell you where to apply to join the corp.

I've toyed with Eve for 4 years now, playing a month here or there but never getting past the mining, mining, mining stuff and giving up, only to check back in 6 months later to see the state of things.

This on the other hand sounds like the fun I am looking for. If you are still looking for more I'll drop in on the chat channel as Statis

The fuck are you mining for? Seriously. You don't need to mine a stinkin thing if you don't want to in this game. Blow shit up and have fun. Flip cans. Be an asshole. Or a target. Up to you, thats the beauty.

For those who are interested, here's turrent state of the game for BAT/F13.

We've moved to the lawless wilds of 0.0 security space.  Actually semi-lawless since we are aligned with a space-holding alliance.  A role-playing, space-holding alliance, who we'll soon be joining.  So WUA: there has never been a better time to join us in Eve  awesome, for real

We're running a couple of big ops soon.  One is a sneaky ninja, black-ops, wolf-pack patiently-stalk-the-enemy-then-pounce op with advanced stealth ships, for which we already have a couple of dozen of people signed up.  The other is a series of scenarios on the test server so people can try out different stuff from normal while doing fast stuff like capture the flag, last man standing, team-based king of the hill gate and so on.

Numbers are pretty damn big, and if more people left the Eve forums more often then the "what are people playing" thread would have seen at least 50 of us active, which makes for fun on the vent servers when loads of us do ops.  My plan is to run more frequent ops, and folks from our alliance will be doing stuff, too.  Helm and Hoax have both successfully run events recently, too.

I must add that the existance of cov-ops ships in EVE make PvP a natural fit to me. That is, I get to help my friends find people to blow up, then hang around 40k back -- invisibile, undetectable, and in no danger -- while the fireworks happen. And they thank me for it.

Admittedly, I'm ALSO the one that jumps into new systems, plays the covops shuffle (break the jump cloak, cloak using my real cloak, and run in a random direction hoping no-one noticed while ALSO trying to figure out who all is camping the area), so there's some risk there.

Also, if I'm spotted BY anything -- up to and including newbie frigs mounting civilian guns, I have the life expectancy of a depressed lemming.

This is why it's a good thing there's no custom paint jobs for EVE ships  ACK!

I think they should actually let players design and raise flags on the ships, on a mast somewhere towards the stern, animated to be billowing in the space-wind.

What the hell, I'll give it 14 days.  I haven't played in at least 3 years.

Keep an eye out for Pope Lenny's application.

ETA:  How in the fuck do I join you guys in the chat channel?  Which one is it (Bat Country or f13?), and how do I search for it?  The UI in this game SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.

I remember why I never subscribed to Eve now.  Amateur hour bullshit annoynaces like this.  Oh, and did I mention that the teeny, tiny unreadable fonts blow goats.  Fuck you, CCP.
