No, no, no. 4Chan can be amusing if one looks at the Cliff's Notes previewed and edited version, but to actually read it? *Shudder* I don't even go there and I know entirely too many of their meme thingies! (The notable ones are also MUCH funnier than this one. Im not sure where Schild's is from, or why any sane person would want to propagate it, but most of the long lived memes are semi amusing at least. But I mostly hear of the Warhammer 40K memes these days. And as mentioned, SA isn't exactly meme central. Maybe BYOB or FYAD but again, I enjoy having a little bit of surviving sanity and avoid those subforums.) Which is probably the biggest problem with memes and catchphrases in the long run. They end up being EAT MY SHORTS, DON'T HAVE A COW MAN, or HOMIE DON'T PLAY DAT, and in a few months all the spouters feel embarrassed and sad. Like anyone who bought Z Cavaricci pants (90 dollars for slacks in the late 80s... REALLY?), leg warmers, or put patches on their jeans jackets. *Shudder* |
