On last weeks deadliest catch episode one of the captains was talking about why they set a night watch and besides the other boats in the area he mentioned because they have to watch for errant floating shipping containers so I'm thinking the number is pretty high if it's an actual concern you have to watch for.
I imagine on take one he said "Icebergs" and the film crew said "YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!!!" and then whines that they would have to take pictures of icebergs to dramatise it. |

It may be a more informed, erm, review...but I can count on one hand the non-mmo games I've gotten 308 hours out of (minecraft and civ iv).

So if you don't put enough into a game to really experience all the things, you can't shit all over it. And now if you put too much into a game to really understand how it plays and why things do not work, you can't shit all over it? I dunno about that. The argument is not how the game was not worth the cost to him... it's about the game being shit. If he was saying he wants his money back (and maybe I missed it?), then yeah... but I'd take his review with a little more confidence than someone who only got to level 10.

I considered adding onto my statement with a 'there is a reasonable review window that is more time than it takes to just barely scratch the game and less than it takes to get a ridiculous value'. Depends on the game, but reviews of less than 10 hours on anything but short duration games and review of more than 100 hours that are negative can be tossed out. Enough time to get into the meat of a game, but if you dislike it enough to leave a negative review, you should've stopped playing long before 100 hours. Who among us have not persisted in playing a pile of hairy turds masquerading as gaming entertainment well beyond what might be considered reasonable?
I kind of think you give up the option of leaving a negative review, because despite your claims you played it enough to get your entertainment dollar value out of it. I might not give a glowing review of the fat chick giving a lap dance, but if I let her grind and don't leave, I won't bitch about it after, either. |

This isn't Uncharted or even Skyrim, where the game is done except for patches and maybe DLC. This is a constantly in develop and updated game, that has balance patches and new modes being added and loot changes and crafting changes and all types of gameplay related changes *POST* release. Maybe, just maybe, it's someone who enjoyed the game a lot at the beginning but is upset with the direction that Ubisoft is taking the game, and thus he is not recommending the game because its' no longer as fun as when he put the initial 300 hours in (and may not be fun for someone just starting out) and may have a good perspective of the game. Maybe, just maybe, it's why he posted a picture of Ubisoft taking a shit on a game instead of actively shitting out a game...... I mean, this is like all the people in the WOW thread calling WOW a shit game even though they have hundreds (or even thousands) of hours in the game at this point in time, because the game is no longer fun because it no longer represents what it once was. ..... Also this is a completely stupid discussion for a funny picture in a funny picture thread. |
