Which is why it is perfect for air-to-ground combat. Not to mention the chain gun fires basically small missiles and the pilot is encased in an iron bathtub.

Likewise, you probably weren't referring to religious law. And yes, the A-10 was designed around that gun. The Air Force brass, dominated by fighter weenies, hates the A10, and has been trying to get rid of it since it was designed. It's a testament to how incredibly effective it is that they haven't been able to make it stick. --Dave |
