This last Halloween someone in my in-laws neighborhood was making cotton candy (organic sugar (hippies) with no added flavor).  Soooo good.  "Son, I'll hold this for you."  "NO."

I'm a bit of a sugar addict, however.

Still seems like the wrong thread and/or forum.

To avoid irony, here's a picture of responses to Super Metroid's release on Wii. Insert generation gap commentary.

They all require powerups that happen in other areas and then you backtrack.  It wasn't a linear path like modern games.

Well, at first I want to rail against them and say shit like "you have the internet and can't figure this shit out?" but then, like Merusk said, it's not a linear modern game.  That's all these people have experienced.  Even worse, having to backtrack or solve things like this has a negative impact in terms of reviews and scores because if a player can't figure out what to do it's a fault of the game.

There is a huge difference in design too.  Back in the day if there was a door, you were pretty damn sure at some point it had to open because otherwise why they fuck did they program its existence.  These days with invisible walls, and background fluff details, even if there is a door, a path, road signs and a welcome mat, if you couldn't go that way it was designed that way intentionally and you should not bother wasting brain space about it.

It's a yellow lab.  It overcame its handicap so no reason to be sad, and it probably would wave and be friendly like that if it could.

That puma pic is why I avoid white clothes. A fresh laundry basket is one of the primary invocations of the Bartolomeus. Try folding clothes on the bed when there's a 22lb cat refusing to get off them. It's a game of his, he'll see me reach for something and dive onto it.

To be fair, I had the exact same reaction back in the original metroid however many years back that was.  Didn't they actually turn one of those into a boss fight in one of the more recent games?

Metroid Prime had a fair amount of backtracking, but then it's not a current game anymore.  Get off my lawn!

Is that really a snake?  Harlem Snake?  I dunno, either.  Not so much because I'm uber white, which I am, but because children confuse and terrify me.
