The problem comes with the "A God" bit.  Cause as far as most people who don't feel like splitting philosophical hairs are concerned, Satan IS a god, so the shirt sort of contradicts itself.  It's basically saying "who needs a god (that one) when you have a god (this one)"  If it had said "who needs God", it would be less self defeating.

Satan's position is quite variable depending on what you consider canon. The concept of Satan as the embodiment of evil and hell as a place of suffering and torment is pretty much a mediaeval construct, effectively it's fanfic. Some Old Testament texts imply that Satan held an office similar to the later concept of the Fool - the one who was allowed to tell his king the truth no matter how impolitic. Several books portray him as an angel fully in God's favour (he is listed as the angel who carried the body of Moses to heaven for example). St Jerome, who compiled the canonical version of the Bible for the Church of Rome misread his copy of Isiah (v12-14) and that's pretty much where the modern concept of Satan comes from

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

That passage however is referring to king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon who has been getting ideas above his station and who is about to be smacked down by God for them. There are no canonical references to Satan as an enemy of God.

He didn't but its a distinction without a difference unless you're accepting the Christian god. Plenty of Pantheons have gods at the top and other weaker gods at the bottom as an example.

Because the shirt denies the existence of a god at all, this would not accept the Christian god and that would very much make Satan a "god"
