MMM AV.. finally hit 70 on my pally and AV'd the rest of the weekend when I wasn't raiding.  Made enough to get one of the plate items, and now it's an internal debate on WHAT I should get.  Picked up my Alliance (60) trinket, already since I think 17k honor is stupid for a few points of resil.   Now it's just a matter of holding off on the impulse to buy the blues when I should really nab the non-set purple stuff first.  Yarg.

I know there's a fix upcoming to battleground afk'ing, but I'm dubious if it will curb anything, since it will require a good amount of player policing.

Some folks are plenty worked-up enough that they'll police it completely, even if it means the loss of a few honor points to stand behind.  The 'easy way out' I've heard of is really just defending graveyards or something else.  Perhaps they'll do some good for once instead of just being AFK

Resilience is your friend. You want all you can get and you'll always be wearing that trinket.

The expensive one is a two minute cooldown also.

So's the 2k honor one.  It's why I nabbed it as soon as I could.

I know resil is your friend, but when I can drop 2k and get a trinket that does the same thing as the one that costs me 17k.. well.. it's a simple choice.  Particularly when looking to armor-up as that 17k is a whole piece with stats, armor, effects AND as much resil as the trinket.

I'll definitily pick-up the 17k one in the future, but it's not a priority piece for just the 20pts of resil.

The level 60 trinket is a 5 minute cooldown, the level 70 one is 2 mins.  It really should be your first purchase, even if you already have the other one.

Can you actually be reasonably competitive in battlegrounds and arenas without doing instances? I hate raids. Hate, hate, hate them.  I started WoW on day one and quit after about 4 months; It's a good game, but the high level quests are a bit too grindy for my liking and all I had to look forward to was brain melting MC runs. It might be worth trying again if I don't have to do big raids once I max out.

Starting out, you're going to have trouble beating a lot of teams, and the fastest way to get competitive gear is to do karazhan. After Patch 2.3, when the S1 gear becomes purchasable for honor points, you'll be able to gear into arena viability by doing BGs, but hooking up with a kara group is probably the fastest way to gear. If you can get 400 points a week, it will take you almost 6 months to get a full arena set, and if you're starting out in greens you won't be able to get 400 points a week. Also, I really like the heroic badge trinkets. They're still among the best trinkets in the game, with passive AP/Spell damage/Healing buffs and a 2 minute click ability for a big boost.

In 2.3, they are putting out a new 10 man dungeon with higher level items, but you'll probably need at least kara grade pve gear to succeed in it.

since it will require a good amount of player policing.

That will be nice.  Especially since most players I've seen act like juvenile dickweeds and put more effort into fighting in /bg than fighting the other side.

Pink Floyd Overdrive had a horrible first week showing. We were in the 1600 bracket after our first 10 games, then we decided to push it, and it just went badly from there.

This week... IT WILL BE DIFFERENT

That Priest is going to get the creme filling beat out of him. I should know, I had his sort of gear once (well, not the T3 shoulders :P).

I wish you luck and can only advise, "BG grind ftw!"
