Anybody play it? Somewhat intrigued by the sites that claim it is better than the original.

I did, no it isn't.

Well, the shared bank is good, but other than that its basically more of the same. If you liked the game you will like the expansion. If you didn't, the expansion won't change your mind.

I picked it up and it's pretty good. Not really mindblowingly so though. The engine seems improved in terms of speed, but I think they may be because they removed that crap where every enemy drops a gigantic pile of broken armor and weapons.

Ah, I see. I think I already had that removed in the original game with a mod, so it didn't register for me.

I played both the original game (Warfare/Defense) and the Expansion (Nature/Mind) as a melee.

There's a thread somewhere, but I played War/Def and got consistently owned by the last boss.

People advised me to 're-run some of the zones for items and levels' and I thought 'Fuck That'.

I, too, played a WAR/DEF but I never got as far as the last boss.

I never tried him after he got buffed, but before that I remember using Collosus Form, Pulverize, Rally, and Battering him like mad. When he raised his arms for the Meteor Strike or whatever I ran around him and went at him from behind. Template was about 90% Defense, 10% Warfare (For Ignore Pain and Dodge Attack).

And I used up numerous heal potions, obviously. Oh, yeah, and I sprinted through the last level, only stopping right before the boss to dispose of the straggler Cyclopses that didn't find their way home.

I just realized I still remember WAY too much about that game.

I didn't get very far in this game.  When I heard I would have to play the same game only harder three time, I completely lost interest and never looked at it again.  I'm probably too easily put off.  Doesn't matter, I would have cheated soon anyway.

I picked up the expansion, it adds a additional mastery that is fairly fun to play and a shared bank and also a new way to buff yourself.

I don't need a new way to buff myself, thanks.  The tried-and-true method works great.

Yeah but I'm in a good rut.  If there's room for improvement, I don't want to hear about it.

Noticed this while looking for something else, but they have Titan Quest + Immortal Throne for $30 on Steam.

They have them for $20 separately (same as Amazon), but you'd need to buy it together anyway as "Titan Quest Immortal Throne requires the Steam version of Titan Quest to play" apparently.

Steam IT on top of boxed TQ or both boxed versions? Since TQ was released on Steam maybe two weeks ago at the earliest, I'm assuming the later.

Imortal Throne Steam page: "Titan Quest Immortal Throne requires the Steam version of Titan Quest to play."

I think they're being specific to the Steam versions of both games. So, I for example couldn't install the Steam IT on top of a boxed version of the original (and possibly the other way around). On the other hand, the D2D version says it's compatible with boxed and "digital" versions as long as the original is patched (1.30).

Head scratch

I picked this up yesterday.

I played through once as a War/Thunder, but the two didnt mesh well at all, and Hard mode creamed my character. Also, my old computer didnt handle it well. My new system is running it great, and so I started over as War/Dream. Its ok, but the main problem is that I dont have any one to play with. This game needs other people to make it interesting.

What skill trees did you use?

Duel Wield, Onslaught, Lucid Dream and the AE Stun Dream one?

I don't know what Onslaught is.

Duel Wield is the only Warfare one.

For Dream I have the summon. I have the alternative regular attack. And uhmmm, the support skill for that attack.

That's it. Everything else went into the core tree for the class for the stat and HP bonuses.

Onslaught is the main Warfare attack. From what I was reading its much much better than the main Dream attack, since the dream attack only triggers every 4th hit, while onslaught builds up and then effects every attack.

Kind of Onslaught builds up to its max. I think it has a max of 8 ranks. So each time you hit, it adds a rank of the buff on you. Each time adding like 10% damage or something. Also, with some of the other onslaught skills, it also adds attack and movement speed. The stacks wear off very quickly when not attacking some thing. So you could build up 8 stacks, then do a few hits of the Dream attack, then go back to onslaught, but from everything I read, just using Maxed Onslaught is better damage. And then you can spend points some where else.

You should try swapping out Psionic Touch for Onslaught and see how it does. Also, I heard Phantom Strike is just awesome.

That was my build before I quit. At first I wanted to go the Pet route with this combo, but then I went for the "I have so many fucking hitpoints and damage absorption enemies die out of boredom before they can kill me" route. Itemisation was Resists and +vitality damage. With a fast weapon Psionic Touch is ungodly.
Ritualist

Of course, Warfare/Dream would have been the more obvious choice, but this works surprisingly well and with a quick reskill you can go the pet route and let your pets do the work for a change of pace.

My regen is what makes things work well. I'm a tank - not like an MMOG tank so much as a bulldozing cuisinart with dual epic swords that can not only take damage but deal good damage.

Thats the beauty in Single-Player Games like Titan Quest. Too many broken builds to count and nobody cries for a nerf!  :-D
