Awww... look at your little pink nipples!  Too cute.  You're all set for AoC!  Your tattoo lady is a cutie, too.  I bet Stray would hit that.

I didn't notice before but my pink nipple is scary in that photo. It looks totally fake. Gross!

If I can ever find my digital camera I'll take a pic, but I have a Black Hand tattoo.  From Vampire the Masquerade.

I'd like to see a pic of this.

Edit: unless it shows inappropriate body parts, that is..

It's nothing super special, its a tribal with a black hand in the center with a blood red half-moon.

This thread is just another kick along that I need to get a tattoo done before I turn 30.

I've got the design decided (sadly, I'm not original since I found a few other pics of it online already done as a tatt) now all I have to do is find an artist in Australia I can 1) trust and 2) doesn't have a 6 month waiting period (since the guy who is most recommended to me has a ... yes, you guessed it).

Anyway, I'll post pics of it when it is done.

Well, when do you turn 30? If you had gotten on the waiting list 6 months ago you would have your tattoo by now!

I'm looking for a design for my own, that's the damn hardest part!

How complex are we talking here?  I'm just asking because we get a lot of people coming into the shop who seem to think that they need an artist of Robert Rodriguez/Jay Wheeler caliber, and then they pull out a tribal drawing.  My point is, unless you're going for a portrait or something incredibly intricate most competent artists can do it.

And most competent artists still have 6 month waiting periods.  Great artists (Rodriguez, Wheeler, Tyrell, Booth, etc) are booked for years.

It's not that complex and is vaguely tribal, but I obviously want to feel comfortable with whoever is doing the work.

I've got a few shops in mind, I just need to go in to them, take a look around and see if I like the vibe of the place. Plus the work that is on the walls / in the books.

Plus: I've got about 6 months until I turn 30 smiley

Ouch.  I've seen bad portraits, but I've never seen them actually turn the subject into a monster.  I can't believe he actually had the balls to take a picture of it like it was something to be proud of.

Are you sure he didn't ask the artist to bring her back to life?

Even as an apprentice if I put something like that on someone I'd be shown the door immediately.  To actually post it on your site?  Like, to advertise?  Wow, just wow.

From the same artist:

I looked around his "portfolio" page to see if the horrible "my wife" tattoo was actually advertised there, but there aren't any links to it.

Now that isn't bad.  Maybe the dude just can't do portraits.  If that's the case he probably shouldn't even attempt them, or at least do them for free on people he doesn't like very much (which is my plan when I want to start doing them).

This is a bizarre pic, though.  The bottom of the tattoo shows red, irritated skin like you'd expect, but the top looks peachy keen.  It's almost as though the neck was added after the head, which is really ass backwards as the stencil would be a bitch to match up later on.

ETA:  More than likely, it's a different artist, though.

Might it have something to do with his enormous pot belly?

Nope.  I think it's just a case of different artist, same studio.  Though why you'd let some guy hack people up like that in your shop is beyond me.

I can't even tell what part of the body that is. Is that his side? Is that patch of hair at the top/right his armpit? What the hell is going on at the bottom/right?

Green text?

Top right hair patch is his nipple.

Bottom right is his belly (a particularly discusting one).

You see his right side.

Guys, that isn't bad.  Trust me, you start to get fairly blase about less than model-like body types.  Try doing a full armband where you're stuck with your face in some dude's armpit for a half hour.  I'll work on belly man all day versus that.

You know you're always welcome, man.  And yeah, I liked Toronto a lot.  Of course, the last time I saw it was when I was 11 or 12 years old.  I remember it well; we went armed to the teeth in case of polar bear attack and brought beads to trade with the Inuit peoples.   awesome, for real

Rise! I couldn't find a more appropriate thread, and I didn't want to start a new one.  I just wanted to share my first ink.  This is stage 1 of 3 - getting it all coloured and the background work all put in.  You can see some of the background work/lightning bolt stenciled in for the next session.  Good start I think and it will look much better with colour.  Tough.

Good tattoo locations for a couple elder signs? Gonna be my first ones so I'm not sure where to put them.

Funny, I had planned on getting an elder sign too eventually. Was going to put it on my chest, left side. I suppose you could say that's over my heart, but whatever.
