Thousands of years from now historians from generations yet to come will point to late 20th century Japan as the cultural beach-head for the insidious tendrils of Slaanesh.

Used panties are now a black market. It was booming when it was legal. Now you can't sell those anymore or manufacture them (HAHAHA, what am i saying?!) in Japan. So people get their uh, supplies, forcefully. So you get those 'snatch n grab' panty thefts. ...used ones...on the street. And sell 'em. Or Sniff. Or wear it on your head.  why so serious?

I'd be really interested to know what the birth rate and/or dating scene is like in Japan, between guys going out with anime pictures on their mobile ohone, cuddling up with anime pillows, chasing panties, etc. It sounds like preferring fantasy to reality.

The Birth Rate in Japan is in the negatives from what I've read. Less to do with the anime pillows and more to do with how sexist and controlling the culture in Japan can be, where women aren't "allowed" to have babies AND keep their careers, so a good chunk of the female population is on 'strike' and refusing to give up their lives to be baby making machines and then stereotypical Japanese house wives.

Of course this could all be total bullshit, I did learn it over the internet mostly. Make of it what you will!

That's probably not even taking account of all the educated, professional couples who do the sums and realise that they can't halve their income and hugely increase their expenditure and keep their house deciding to put off having kids. Hell most of Western Europe would be in a similar situation if it wasn't for all the immigration, Japan simply doesn't want non-Japanese people moving there to live and 'messing up' the gene pool.

It comes in the Collectors' Edition, which also comes with a cloth map which clearly points out where the important parts are located.  It all comes in a tin metal box and looks quite attractive on your bookshelf.

Japan is suffering from a massively skewed older population with lots of people from the baby boomer generation. They have a negative population growth rate. Article covers a short overview here.

Other factors include Japan not looking towards immigration to deal with the shortfall in population growth, plus an insane work culture that isn't particularly welcoming to women AND would be incredibly hard to include kids in anyway. So Japanese women were putting off kids until their late 30s (as above).

As far as the dating scene goes, my understanding is that Japanese girls go more for white guys. They may eventually marry a Japanese guy, but they go out with white guys.

I, a known roundeye, am engaged to a Japanese woman.  And I may end up living in Japan permanently, depending on how well she likes Columbus (note:   awesome, for real).

From living in Japan, I'd say the comments about (a) expense of having a kid and (b) sexism probably account for most of the problem.  Probably the rest is the...er, less than progressive attitude toward immigration.  Any F13 denizen who gets the vapors about how mean the mean ol' Republicans are to Mexicans (i.e. most of you) would die of PC shock after hearing the average Japanese person's opinion on immigration.

I personally consider the country as pretty much a fucking paradise- safest country in the world that doesn't cane you, great and healthy food, great health care, great public transportation, better schools than the US,  women in sailor suits, best customer service anywhere, polite children, etc.  If you want to live in a large country with some bustling urban action (i.e. not safe-but-sleepy type places like Sweden), Japan is hands down the best place to live on earth.

Just so long as you are aware that you are the target of that opinion on immigration.  Those un-pc things?  Yeah, they're talking about you, just not to your face.

Not really, or at least not much.  Japanese are quite open about the fact that whites are pretty much ok (if they aren't Russian sailors).  Its people with darker skin (SE Asian, African, etc.) that they don't like.  I had it 100x easier than any of those groups in Japan.

I have an uncle who married a Japanese woman, moved to Japan and now teaches Japanese business law at a university there, and the stories he relates jive with what you are saying.

I've travelled to Tokyo quite a bit and I can echo this at least anecdotally. Whites are still foreigners and you won't be allowed into certain, ahem, establishments, but generally are considered peers. Other Asians, Africans, SE Asians, Indians are all really demonized. Politely of course.
