Nope, they included Mass Effect.

I had to vote for the Witcher over ME, because Bioware likes to roll in big piles of Gatesbux. Can't blame them, but.....PCPLZ.

I had a nice time away from work.  The holiday looked something like this:

SMT: Digital Devil Saga [PS2 emu] - Luckily for Sony, the 2.01 PS3 firmware unfucked the PS2 emulator's display.  Also, I actually made some progress after beating Beelzebub Version 1.  Here, progress means getting significantly closer to having three people that have mastered all skills... also just passed the 100-hour mark.  Cielo and Heat are being left behind, but I'm considering trading Gale out for Heat since EVERY ENEMY uses lightning now and NO ONE uses ice.  Argh.

Folklore [PS3] - This game gives me more of a workout than anything I have played on the Wii.

Super Mario Galaxy [Wii] - It's made of awesome.

Rune Factory [DS] - I don't remember the other Harvest Moon games being this fun, even though I can't point to a difference in the gameplay at the beginning.

I'm really, really serious about putting Digital Devil Saga to bed in the short term.  After that, I don't know if I'm going to start Digital Devil Saga 2 or Nocturne.  One promises a story continuation while the other double-dog-dares me to play it.

EDIT: Someone broke the battery cover on the PSP and it now dies if jarred slightly.  I'm not terribly broken up over it since it's a nice life-lesson for the boy that broke it.  Although he blames his mother.  A replacement is going to be ordered, and quite possibly a R4 DS card and a motion-sensing musical cat as well.

The ending of DDS 1 will make you want to play the second.

I don't know what the fuck you're doing wasting time maxxing people out in the first one though. It's ridiculous. You can't transfer the skills to two, it has a (much better, imo) streamlined skill system than the first and the level curve is better.

I like the combat, also I have OCD.

Really, I might not be able to make it that far but I'm going to try.  I do want to start a New Cycle and get the five optional bosses taken care of for the items in DDS2, and you get stat bonuses in DDS2 depending on how many mantra you mastered in DDS1 (+5 to all if you mastered every one).  I don't think I can get all of the unlockables in DDS2 since I probably didn't make the correct dialog choices, but I'm not going back now.

I am not sure if I have to beat those five optional bosses in the second play or the first.  I'll figure out what I want to do after I start the second play of DDS1.

Hey, I've actually been playing games again, not just buying them!

Homeworld 2
An NDA'd beta (of a game I preordered before being accepted)

EDIT: On the VE poll: Stalker was an RPG?

Someone really, really needs to make a Homeworld 3. I liked Homeworld for it's ship-stealing/salvaging (fear my 20 ion canon captured army!) and story (woah, ion fighters!) -- I enjoyed homeworld 2 for everything else (the ability to speed up/slow down, more classes of ships).

Playing Gears of War, Mario galaxy; The Witcher is now on the back burner in the hopes load times improve with upcoming patch. I have a NDA MMO but it's not all that interesting.. I load it up only out of sheer boredom.

Stalker was an RPG? It had atmosphere but that was pretty much it. Completely linear story, No levels/improvement.. I'd say it's more of an overgrown FPS.

this poll is just too funny.  awesome, for real

VANGUARD?

Really? Vanguard? Were you so hard up for anything even remotely interesting that you had to put VANGUARD on there? Fuck, it wasn't even the best MMOG released last year, much less even able to be considered for Game of the Year.

Ooooh. That could be good. Is Relic Entertainment still comprised of the old team, and are they giving that studio the development... I think I've liked everything that's come out of there, they've really made the warhammer universe come to life. It's a shame I'm going to have to wait 2-3 years to find out.

God damn Homeworld was crafted from Liquid Win.

I mean, come on...how cool was it to advance with a few wings of fighters and corvettes, and follow up with a block of ion cannon frigates, backed up by a few missile frigates and support ships?

Things assploded.

Holidays make gaming difficult.

Rune Factory [DS] -- I know this is a good game because I have a hard time making up my mind what I should do at any given time.  Example: I'm switching from radishes to strawberries because of the profit margin, but my crap cooking skill basically only works on radishes or cucumbers.  I guess I could grow cucumbers... dammit!  Also monsters that don't pick all of the corn make me angry.

Eternal Sonata [360]

Phantom Dust [Xbox]

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth [Xbox] -- Started fresh Sunday morning and I think I'm about halfway done.  It makes me want to play Eternal Darkness something fierce.

Mythos [PC] -- Latest patch is fantastic.  Things are easier to see, for one.

Super Mario Galaxy [Wii]

Mass Effect and my copy of the Fallout collection arrived yesterday.

I installed Fallout 1 & 2, patched up and plan to spend a fair bit of time with Fallout 1 this weekend. It's about time I played these games. Only thing I'm debating is whether or not I want to install fan made patches or not.

Can't get motivated to log into EQ2 anymore so I canceled.  It gets so "meh" after a while.  I play WoW maybe a few hours a week.  A bunch of f13'ers started over on a PvP server a few weeks ago, but I'm still only level 10.  hehe.  I'm not really playing much of anything right now.  I guess I should try and remember how to read books.   ACK!

Just finished The Witcher.. so I have no idea.

I could either finish up my Tremere run on VTM: Bloodlines or start up Assassin's Creed.  I also have a stack of used games I got at the EBGames 2 for 1 dealie.

I started Yakuza a couple days ago.  It reminds me of River City Ransom with lots of loading and an interesting story.  So far I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

I also picked up Genji after reading the little review thing here.

Loading on Yakuza was much slower on my ps2 than my ps3.

I need to finish that before Yakuza 2 (and Kenzan) come out.

I started the first season of Sam and Max a couple nights ago. Good stuff so far; it makes me think more old adventure game licenses need to be resurrected and made episodic. Hopefully TaleTell can make enough money to buy them all.

I've been going through all my console games for the PS2/XBox/GC etc over the past few days, seeing which ones need to be culled, which ones need to be bought on a different format (generally PS2 games wanting to be replaced by XBox versions). I'm down to the last 2 Wii games to check out for the firts time, and then can go through the X360 stuff I haven't looked at yet!

As for playing, I'm sad to say that since the TV has been an excersise in checking out the crap for consoles I've bought over the past 6 years, my only real playing has been on the PC. Which has been WoW. Ms.Azazel and I have started playing the Blood Elves we started last year and got to level 7. We're now level 10! Go Team!

Aliens versus Predator 2 Marine campaign.  Im on a bit of an Aliens kick at the moment (am making a total conversion of Necromunda to do Aliens so I need inspiration and all!) so I figured a little shooty shooty would help me with brainstorming.
Plus it looks nice at 1400 by 1050!

Sadly, the original doesn't want to run.  Get massively garbled in game graphics to the point I can't move its so borked.

And I am still playing Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on the go.

Should finish AvP2 Monday and I can then either go back to Valk Profile 2 or burn my way through Lenneth.

Mass Effect [360] - Ongoing.  Fun.
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne [PC] - Ongoing.  Fun.
Head First C# [Web Book] - Ongoing.  Fun.
Deinstall Visual Studio C# 2005 Express [PC] - Gave up.  End boss was horrible.
Install Visual Studio C# 2008 Express [PC] - Apparently dependent on the above.
Install Windows SDK [PC] - Grinding now.  Promise of fun in the endgame with msizap.exe and possibly other things.
