Just pirate it at this point.

If they can't get their shit together enough to let people buy the game, fuck 'em.

Is it even any good? I don't get what will give it longevity?

I'm quite enjoying it so far.  Its a fun little RPG in a procedurally generated world.  I think the longevity will come from co-op.  I've been waiting for a good multiplayer RPG to play with friends for years.  This will give us basically infinite content for whenever we want to scratch that itch.  Will I play it 20 hours a week forever, no.  But I can easily see myself playing it a couple or few hours a week with friends consistently.

My hope is that they're able to really add stuff like Minecraft did.  Maybe if they make a bit of cash, (irony) they can do it!

It's why I'm sad that there is zero modding support. It would drastically increase the life expectancy of this game.

Night time is definitely too dark.   Are there ways to switch day/night or get a better lamp?  I know you can do it at an Inn but that's not helpful when the Inn is half a map away.

Account creation seems to be up.  Not sure I want to buy it now in wake of all of the technical issues.

The only way I know off hand to get a better lamp is to find a vendor that sells one, but maybe they can drop too.

You can also sleep at a campsite on one of the bedrolls to make time pass faster, go do something for a few minutes and come back to morning.

If you check out the thread linked earlier with different seeds for worlds one of them has a purple lamp on the town vendor near the spawn. I'm on a tablet at the moment so I can't check which one, sorry.

The purple lamp gives a much larger light radius.

This is really interesting to me but it's an awfully long interval to not have gotten the store shit worked out. I'm not sure I understand the unwillingness to yell for help and get someone with serious experience in that area to pitch in.

Silver cost?

A gold lamp is 4 copper last I checked.

I'm happy I bought it. I only have technical problems when someone who pirated the game joins the server.

Right now the interface only has room to display 4 total players, but I've had 8 on my server at once and it behaves fine. Our main group is between level 40 and 60 (with one guy around 95 because he plays with another group of super catasses.)

Protips:

Talk to an innkeeper to reset the server time to 7am and daylight.
If you're far away from an Inn, sleep in a bedroll to increase the server time by 1 minute per second.
You can log in a second client to a server.
Leave that second client in town to talk to the inn keeper on demand.
Talking to the innkeeper also resets all of the mob spawns, but does not reset the quests.
Quest completion gives tons of exp to EVERYONE ON THE SERVER no matter where they are.
To get full exp from a monster, hit it at least once.
Middle click to dodge.
Middle click and drag on the map to move the map.

How are you guys such high level? Granted I haven't played a ton yet, but I feel like I am leveling really slowly, playing sub-optimally or something. I am level 7 and really only able to take on mobs that give about 5-6 XP each. Playing a Ranger with a Beetle tank pet atm.

Feels like I am doing something "wrong". :)

Well, experience required to level isn't that high. I imagine bosses yield decent experience. If they're playing in a group, I'd wager they get full exp per kill and plow through groups of mobs that are equal level.

Still though, game isn't fun enough yet to warrant that sort of investment.

You can't split stacks, but you can throw them out of your inventory one at a time, if that helps for trading etc. You also have to buy and sell one at a time.

Well at 13 I found an island with a cornling boss and bunches of +1 radishling/cornling/onionling mobs which are essentially AE killable.  I was 18 before I realized it.  Then I went on an explorer bent (i.e. spent a lot of time in the oceans) and lantern fish, pufferfish, sharks, and now piranha die before they can even get to me.

I still can't finish a dungeon, but whatever, I'm an adorable orc mage, killing Poseidon's creatures!

You guys should try to join up with me.

I try to keep my server up from ~5pm PST til ~midnight PST. I may or may not be on, because 3 kids.

The server crashes VERY OFTEN for no reason at all, so if I'm not around and it crashes who knows when it'll be back up.

It's arcadey EQ1 with minecraft graphics.

It is not EQ1 at all, and the graphics are dot heroes, not minecraft.

It might get better with more features, but it's pretty bad right now. I got maybe 15 hours out of it, so I guess it's worth a peek.

Shared stash?

What you can do...

Fire up server.exe

Fire up the client, connect to localhost.

Fire up a second client, connect to localhost.

Drop and pick up, AC1 style. Without people to steal things from you.

I'm still wandering around my first world.  I've taken to hitting a town in a biome and then moving on to the next.  I've been doing this for a while, hit 53, and I keep finding new, interesting areas.  I just found a new dark/fire biome with like red rings and shit.  It's pretty cool.
