Or die 90% of the way through level 8 because my raven and I are both made of paper and delete the character in a fit of pique.

Nah, just don't plan on soloing in the Barrows or Fields of Fornost until you are higher level than they are, and don't play with Elite Trees until you are much higher than they are.  Groups won't need you there either so pugging is going to be frustrating.  Do the other quests first and come back to them, or don't do them at all.

You can do some of the quests there if you are solo. I managed to collect the flowers, kill the wolves and find all the sites solo. Had to run a few times but the trees are slow.

Gotta say... between the speed burst run and having a pet distract mobs,  Captains can seem to get out of any unwinable situation.

Is this open invitation still an open invitation?

I rolled on Silverlode just because I had nowhere better to roll.

But that Captain's salami tray was tight, yo. You plump for the roast pork loin, dogg?

Silverlode has ques. Pick one of the newer servers and lets all re roll.

I started with nothing, and I still have most of it

I think the queues are artificial.  Brandywine had them, then didn't.  Now it only occasionally has them.  I never had a number higher than 21.  My guess is that they add them to servers with higher pops to force people to the lower pop servers.  You'll notice that the recommended servers for newbies change from day to day.

Well 2 of us does not a fellowship make. So I will wait for others to chime in. I have played all classes to 8-9 ish. But PUG with a minstrel is the forth circle of hell. A fellowship would be sweet as 2 or more players allow you to roll through content. My highest is guardian (solos really well) but I would be more than willing to roll a minstrel if there was a need.

I'm on the server that starts with an E (Elendil or something).  I'm in a nice guild with a good bunch of people who don't seem to mind my antisocial ways and can also accomodate my social days.

Hit me up if you decide to roll there.  Merri, Merrilea, Xanthippe are all names you might find me under.

Also playing on Elenilmir - hit qeues on the weekend, no more than a couple minute wait.  I was 8 and 12 in qeue respectively.

Just as an aside, I belive Landroval is the unofficial RP server.

This is what always happens with this community and it's why the "guilds" formed from here always fail. Silverlode was the server. Silverlode still is the server. Period. Make a guy on Silverlode or shut up and play by yourself. People switching to new server to accommodate one or two new people who post to a thread every month only to have half the people dissapear is why groups from here fall appart. Learn from history. Play on Silverlode or STFU.

What do you expect?  We barely keep our hatred of each other in check when just making textual posts often separated by hours or days in real time.  How the hell would we survive more prolonged and direct contact?

Been in 3 F13 guilds so far, this has never been an issue. Sporadic play times and apathy towards the game are what kill us.

Agreed.  Even the people you'd think would be jackasses are rather cool to play with.  The playtimes and apathy are what fucks it all up.

Yeh, really getting the playtime shaft here in "the Korea" (as my students tend to refer to it as)

BTW, big thanks to Blizzard for letting my job be talking about computer games ever since their announcement.  About half of my students have come out of the gaming closet, and now love me.

And, the changing servers thing has been a problem for me.  I've been on the fence, only to read the posts that while the "official" group may be in one place, scattered groups are jumping onto other servers, people start discussing moving or not, and finally I just say "FUCK IT".  How long should I wait to figure out who will be where so I dont have to reroll or pay a transfer fee?

If you're on another server, STFU.  Because you're wrong.  Unless the queue makes it impossible for you to ever play, just SUCK IT UP FOR THE WHOLE TWO MINUTES OF WAITING!!!!  Geez, it's not like it's reaching for the WOW-STAR of wait-times.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that I had to play on the f13.net server.  Somehow I missed the groupthink injection.

Oh, right.

Keep your prized individuality in a multiplayer game.

Fine, whatever.

Or, here's a thought.  Since this thread is about a guild on SILVERLODE, feel free to discuss other servers SOMEWHERE ELSE as opposed to dividing people up.

Oh noes, someone mentioned that they're on a different server!  The readers of f13 are too stupid and easily led; they're all going to run to that other server!

Some of us had guilds from beta.  The reaction of much of the f13 community during beta was, "Meh."  Hedging bets and rolling on a server with other folks you know is a smart thing, especially given the generally capricious nature of the f13 crowd.  Any further discussion of whether other servers can be named in a silverlode guild thread will make this as lame as an official forum thread.

I'm literally installing the game now, but I think my fiance and I would be interested in joining the f13 guild. When I get the game up and running (I had to do some finagling since I forgot I don't have a DVD-ROM on one of my PCs), please send me a tell :)

Yes, open invitiation.  Been super busy with my wife's opera stuff so haven't been on in about 6 days.  There's lotsa members online so you can ask one of them for an invite or they will find you an officer to invite you.

I have a 15th level Hobbit Guardian on Silverlode now, won't be levelling too quickly due to my insanity over completing quests and deeds, but who am I to contact for an invite?

The guild name is Acies Invictus, and if I see you on, I'll let you know if officers are on.

Plus, we should group: I'm a 14 burg :)

FYI: We are still alive and well on Silverlode.  Works been a bear so I can't post as much as I used to, but I do play everynight almost.  Feels like when I get home its either a choice to read forums or play... well I choose to play ;-).  We are starting new schedules soon though... 8am - 7pm Mon - Thursday.  Friday, Saturday, Sunday OFF BABY!  WOOOT!  3 full days of gaming... what the hell am I gonna do with myself!

Gonna jump on test server right now to pick my deluxe house.  We have the kinship house already picked out.

Well I haven't posted here in awhile as most of my days when I get home from work have been online with our kinship raiding and other things and my internet from work was blocked.  For some reason the internet block at work was lifted and we have access... for now.

We have been doing Carn Dum on a regular basis and are now moving onto Urugrath (sp?) and GB (forget this one all the time).  Our newer members are leveling up nicely and we will soon have enough for The Rift.  Lotsa of things going on and lotsa events.  Feel free to check out our website and if you register on the forums please let me know as we have been getting spam bots from hell.

We will be implementing new things to stop the spam bots, but while we figure those installations out and such just let me know so we can set you up if you register.

I am extremely tempted to come back.  AOC is great as single player, but its multi player stinks.  I miss LoTRO's PUGs.

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

What I'm finding is that Turbine has a little bit different philosophy than other games. They don't push out a lot of content for LOTRO, but what they do produce is generally pretty good. I'm thinking that they're even aiming for the concept of marketing to the gamer that subscribes for 3-4 months, desubs, then comes back six or seven months later for a stint. Rinse and repeat.

It should say something that I'd been playing EQ2 for four months after my kin mass quit for AOC and boredom... then a couple weeks ago, within 15 minutes of our Glorious Leader sending out "OK, let's go farm the 'rog again," emails, I'd desubbed, resubbed, updated and entered game.
