After taking 9 days to arrive instead of the advertised 48 hours, i have my super delaxe version of Silent Hunter 4. The spiral bound recon guide and music CD were worth the extra price for me.

Only played enough to find out the water looks wounderful, and I need to learn to navigate.

Game is in desperate need of a stratagy guide on a Falcon 4.0 scale.

Lots of bugs reported, 1.1 patch already out, but it will need a 2nd (don't press the A key, it causes CTD). I need to download the 1.1 patch.

Eve is going to have to wait. Time to start training a week or two skill.

Dosn't anyone else have this?

I picked this up  just to try a different type of game, unfortunately for you, I've been swamped with projects and exams. I'll open it when I get back from being out of town.

I have never tried this series, but I played the everliving hell out of Red Storm Rising. I may have to give it a try. Holler when there is a patch!

My only question: does it come with Starforce or any other form of STD? I never bought SH3 because of that.

(Disc-checking is fine, nothing installed.)

SH4 came with starforce; I tried it but found I really really sucked and couldn't even mange to hit a very slow moving boat.

SH3 came with StarForce. I can't find a damn thing about SH4 having SF.

Maybe it was SH3. I thought it was 4, sorry. All I know is that it was pretty and pretty much impossible for me to play.

Sh3 had it. SH4 has the wacky "if you're a pirate your crew mates give you the bug eyes" or other wacky game debuffs. *allegly* it is effecting so called legimiate owners too.

Targeting on easy mode is easy, lock the target, set torpedo speed/depth/spread, shoot. targeting on hard mode means you need to use the Torpedo Computer which IS complicated, like playing Falcon 4.0 on realistic avoinics. Though I find commanding a sub much eaiser.

I've only played traning missons so far, but it looks very nice, buggy though. There will have to be a 1.2 patch out soon (pressing the A key causes a CTD for the biggest "who didn't catch THAT in beta testing"), but I find it's playable now.

I played SH2 a lot when it came out, and playing SH4 brought back a lot of memores if trying to inflltrate Japanese harbours.

It was a "Feature" then I am sure to allow testers to quickly exit and start playing again!
