I used CTMod, Titanbar, decursive, and benecast.  I don't know which ones still work and/or are still maintained.  I've been away since last August.  Any suggestions?

Decursive doesn't work any more.  They nerfed that a while back.  Benecast might be the same.

I use Titan bar, CT Core (for quest levels mostly), and I'm experimenting with KTM (threat meter) to make sure I don't pull aggro in an instance.

SCT was sweet, and I think it's still there, but the same functionality is in the client now so I just use it.

I used the damageMeters add-on before BC, don't know if it works with wow2.0 however? but its a really nice add-on that let you sync with other damageMeter users in your group and gave you fairly accurate recordings of damage/healing done in a group.

CTMod Advanced bundle and Titanbar are the only two i have installed at the moment.

Just to add, if you haven't played in a while, CTMod has a new gui that is a fair bit different from the old one you will remember.

Since the BC, I haven't used any.  I don't really miss them either...

Once I start doing more than leveling, I am sure my guild will coerce me to install CTRaid again.

I use the new Benecast, Gatherer, KTM, ATLAS and SWStats.  Also, some map one that gives coords.  That's about all I need.  Pretty fine w/ the bars/interface I have.

I try to use as few mods as possible, and I don't use any that automate combat stuff for me, as I feel it really gimps you come patch days to do so.

However, I do like the functionality of some for the info they give but it's a take it or leave it kind of thing, other than CTmod:

Favorites currently installed:

Wardrobe  - I like the fast unequip/ reequip for those 'oh crap I teleported 1000' in the air' moments, the around town functionality (closet RPer!), as well as not having to pick & choose resist stuff out of my bags & bank.  Click on "fire resist" or "get from bank" and it's done.

Atlas Enhanced Loot:  I like browsing bosses and instance loot.  It's all about the shineys, so you may as well have an organized way to see them.

TitanBar: All kinds of info without opening multiple windows! Yay!

Gatherer: Pure love since they added the 'detect gathers from guildmembers' feature.

Auctioneer suite: I hate figuring out prices for things. This pretty much does it for me, if I sell "too low" I don't really care, it's out of my precious hunter/engineer/miner w/ packrat tendences inventory space.

SWstats:  Seems a lot more accurate than DamageMeters.  Also knows to auto-clear itself when you join a raid and doesn't let Random_Raid_Tard_02 sync whenever HE feels like it, so you don't wind up with them at 2x the stats of everyone else, while also adding-in 6 people who aren't even there.

KTM: Mandatory for raiding w/ people, imo.  Particularly for Locks who just can't keep track of exactly how much each dot tick is doing, so can't track threat on their own.

I stay away from all bar mods.  They fuck-up too often and really confuse people on patch days as they can't find things for casting/ fighting anymore.

CTMod, but I only have the Mass Mail and Map Mod enabled.  It's nice since I tend to mule most of my raw materials and my shaman is just a gatherer (ie, he needs to ship stuff to other chars). Coords are nice for when I get really stuck on a quest.

I'd like to install new player frames.  I have some visibility issues with the default one.

I always seem a bit embarrased when one of these threads comes up.  lets see now:

Improved Error Frame (error text grabber to shuffle off those error popup boxes)

Omni Cooldown Count (good on bars cooldown count mod)

AG unit Frames (ACE based unit frames replacement)

Bartender 3 (ACE based bars replacement mod, I HATE the default ui bars)

BigWigs Boss mods (not really usefull now since oldworld raids are passe and new world raids havent really kicked off yet)

Cartographer + plugins (ACE based map mod, with gatherer replacement functionality)

Natur Enemy Cast Bars (Timer bars for spell effects / spell cooldown for mobs and stuff)

CTMod - Mail mod, and Expense History mostly

eCastingBar (cast bar replacement)

Fishing Buddy (fishing mod)

FuBar (similar to titan pannel, but ACE based, and i find it less of a memory hog)

About 10 or so FuBar Plugins

ItemRack (Fast item swapping + item sets mod, I prefer this to wardrobe)

ItemSync (Lootlink like item database)

KLH ThreatMeter (really love this mod, and REALLY wish more people would use it, especially usefull in Heroic dungeons, where trash can 1 shot clothies when they pull aggro)

Mailto (mail tracking mod (MUST HAVE for anyone with a lot of alts who mails loads of stuff around))

Scrolling Combat Text + Damage mod (Cause the blizzard in game SCT SUCKS)

SWStats (Combat stats tracking:  Damage / healing done per fight and all that fun stuff.  Sure, people can Epeen with it and play "king of the damage meter" but it has usefull functions like telling who is decursing, what your over all raid dps is, and other fun stuff)

Theory Craft (sticks stuff like crit info and things on your spell tooltips)

Tiny Tip (Tooltip replacement mod)

XLoot (replacement for the blizzard loot window, rather nice)

-------------------------------------------------

Class specific:

Call of Elements (totem grid and timers mod for shaman)

Cryolysis (all in one mage tool)
Trade Dispenser (automated water / food dispenser for mages, but can be used for other stuff.)

CTMod is the main thing I use, though I only really love the mass mail (to offload sellables/storables to bank mules from my main character all at once, instead of with individual emails) and the various benefits of the mapmod.

I can't do without Wardrobe. As a druid, it automatically puts on my cat/bear/healing sets of equipment when I shapeshift. My druid is much more effective and versatile because of this.

I try to keep mods at a minimum because it's a pain in the arse to set them all up again after patches break them. I'm not dedicated enough to WoW to put in the effort. Also, the Advanced section of the Interface Options within WoW has many of the things that used to be mods.

Now, granted that i havent played around to compare the latest version of each, but back when I switched, I found itemrack to be superior to wardrobe in pretty much every way.  It was faster at swapping, allowed more customizability of sets, and has all the fun events (form shifting, mounting, mining, skinnning and the like) and comes with a neat customizabie side bar that lets you swap individual items on the fly)

As to CT Mail mod, if you like it, you should REALLY check out MailTo.  It is a mail tracking plugin (unfortunately it is buggy in that it doesent track delivery times for mass mailed items through CT mass mailer), but it will alert you when single items arrive at their recipients, and the BEST feature, is that it has an "away from mailbox" inbox feature, that lets you look at the items waiting in the mailbox of EVERY character on your account, from anywhere in game (you need to check mail with each character at least once), and it tracks the expiry dates on stuff.  Absolutely essential if you keep a LOT of stuff shuffled around between alts, and want to make sure you dont forget to grab it out of the mail before it expires.

WoWEcon - not so sure that it's that effective, but out in the field away from town, can gauge whether or not to pick up loot, and interesting the numbers on all the special loot and disenchant breakdown probabilities...

Aucioneer (keeps track of auction price trends)
Bartender3 (configurable button bars)
Bigwigs (boss timer stuff for raids - guild requirement)
Cartographer (better map)
CensusPlus (keep track of how many people are playing what)
CooldownCount (timers on when ability is next available)
CT_MailMod (send many things to bank alt at one time)
CT_RaidAssist (raid frames and whatnot - gukld requirement)
Deadly Boss Mods (some more useful stuff than Bigwigs)
EnhTooltip (add good things to your tooltip)
FishingBuddy (keep track of ze fish)
Gatherer (keep track of ze herb/ore nodes)
KLHThreatMeter (aggro info - guild requirement)
Lootlink (handy database of items)
Mobinfo2 (some useful mob stats)
Perl Classic Unitframes (better looking frames, fairly lightweight)
QuestHistory (keep track of completed quests)
Scrolling Combat Text (better than the Bliz replacement)
SimpleTranqShot (annoucements for hunter tranq shot, historical for now)
TipBuddy (relocate tooltip to cursor)
Titan Bar (bunch of useful crap like clock, coords, durability on a menu bar)
Wardrobe (for when you need a clean pair of pants)

Fubar + standard Fubar plugins

ag_unitframes (pretty, and easy to read. Also, every single element being draggable is nice)
Coodown Count
Auctioneer
Gatherer
Combat Caller (good for dumb groups that don't pay attention to your HP/MP totals)
CT_RaidAssist (not really being used now, but eh, I'll need it eventually)
AlphaMap (can't live without it anymore)
Few little background mods that do stuff like auto-close empty lootwindows and the like.

I was mistaken. I'm not using Wardrobe, I'm using Outfitter. Doh.

I like Outfitter, and it sounds a lot like Itemrack.  You're right about Wardrobe being slow, that's why I dropped it and forgot.   Outfitter also will build sets based on the items it sees you have. So no more "what's the best FR stuff... " just do a "build fire resist" or "build for healing" and boom.

Still requires a sanity check, tho, as from what I can tell it doesn't account for item bonuses, or one-spell items like the druid "+ to resto" idol.

The best thing I like from mods is being able to hotkey all of the bars, and I also don't like how WoW has two right sidebars instead of a right and left one.  Have they enhanced the interface to do this without mods?

Someone mentioned WoWEcon, and it looks like it would do what I want as far as being able to display vendor prices for stuff.  However, the binary download is down atm and there's a lot of talk about a virus/trojan, due to it having a launcher that downloads updated data before launching WoW.

I'm not entirely sure I need it to update every time I launch, personally.  Unfortunately, it seems it's just not available anywhere atm, and I don't have a .Net version of VC++, so I can't build it from the sources.

I suppose I can just wait.  I've gone without it this long...

I use a bunch--mostly to make my screen somewhat organized and pretty.  Prior to mods and in 40 man raids I had a tiny viewing screen, everywhere else were buttons and healthbars.

Bongos
Clique
Grid
AG_unitframes
ORA2
Deadly boss mod (formerly la vendetta)
Bigwigs
Some raiding associated mods
Bunch of mods just to make the screen look pretty :P

I rarely use any of these to their full potential.  Just as small conveniences.

That kind of mod setup kills me since it makes the game look like a damned spreadsheet program instead of a game. I need to get the rest of my guild on the ThreatMeter board though, since we've got some DPS classes that need to learn when to tone it down.

I just tried that out.  Scared the crap out of me. Uninstalled minutes later.

I've tried various mods with my info + target into near the bottom of the screen.  I just can't get used to it at all.

I've added xperl unit frames now and I like them. Much easier for me to see.  I'll likely be adding some sort of threat meter and item rack.  Any time I try really pushing my DPS I pull aggro easily, and playing hybrids I need to switch gear a lot.

"Ton of mods" can be a bad thing IMO.  I used to use a compilation (can't think of the name now) but every patch day, I had to struggle along half the night with the default UI broken and useless until they updated the mod, or suffer through tons of error popups.

LOL.  Did you read the install instructions?  Backing up your interface and stuff it says to helps. But the one character I tried, it destroyed his entire hotbar layout.   Others were spared.

I still just use old reliable Cosmos. It's bloated and half of it doesn't work but I know which parts I want and which parts to disable now so it's good enough for me. I did install that CTMod stuff to get the mass mailer mod. It interfered horribly with my screen but once i turned everything off except for the mail thing I was fine.

I use:

  • CT_Core (not a fan of the new UI, but whatever)
  • MonkeyMods (MonkeyQuest- still the best I've found, MonkeyClock- because, why not?)
  • Whatever part of Enchantrix/Lootlink lets me see the price an item will fetch with NPCs.
  • MetaMap- Awesome minimap manipulator, contains other maps, does whatever any three mod packages would. Sorta hefy though,  but nothing beats running around with a half-screen translucent overhead map with copious note taking/tracking abilities)
