Hahahahaha....
I wonder if all those hardcore people who cried about people getting "casual epics" are still happy they cried until they got them nerfed. At a casual glance it seems to be almost all BOP, raid level, and catassy grind rep stuff...
Kharma and whatnot.

What the hell did they do, that wiped banks like that? Now I'm a bit paranoid about logging on --- I have some of the stuff that's missing. (The Undead Slaying set from the Scourge, invasion, some MC gear, a bit of faction gear from BG's....all of it months old, though).

This one seemed almost sad. From a 52 orc warrior:
" Dear Blizzard,
I logged on my char. on tuesday and noticed my wepon had gone missing. I had a twig of the world tree with crusader on it at the time, and i checked my bank and inventory and it wasn't there either. Please get back to mesoon, in game or on forum list about this issue. Thank you. =/"
Seems like a genuine first time through sort of guy. :(

I suspect their easiest fix is a rollback to Monday night's DB backup. Going to piss a lot of people off, losing 24 hours of play -- but it looks like they've got bigger problems. As best I can tell, reading the threads -- entire bank slots were deleted. Entire banks were deleted. Inventory was stripped off of characters.
What the hell did they do? What on earth could they have hotfixed that would touch inventory like that?
Eh -- I lie. Looks like they've dug into their logs and figured out what was deleted and are trying to restore it back. You lose any enchants on it. Fuck, I am NOT looking forward to checking my characters. I wish they had some "common cause" sort of thing so I can tell what to look for.
Recently acquired gear? Raid gear? Only players loaded since 2.0? What?

Seems to be entirely random, old gear, brand new gear, stuff on mains, stuff on inactive alts, stuff worn, stuff in inventory, stuff in banks.
The situation is still this - you have to identify what was lost and petition for its return. If you don't notice, or cannot recall, you're SOL. This despite the fact that they do have a record and can check if you had those items. However, they have no records of enchants, so if you petition for a sexy HWL weapon with expensive enchant to be returned, you're getting it back with no enchant, and its up to you to find a few hundred more gold. Pretty piss poor.

The way this has become a baby-killing clusterfuck on top of the absolutely shit way they dealt with "instant" epics in BG is pretty much it for a lot of people it seems. Honestly, they need to just roll back to Monday and hell raiders to stop rubbing their twats about people with more skill but less time owning their asses now that they have slightly less inferior gear compared to their premades.

Wow, this really is piss poor.
If I didn't read forums, I would never have known about this. I have about 6 characters I don't play often that I need to check on. There was nothing in the game (I've played every day since Tues) to indicate that you should check.
It seems like they ought to automatically refund these items, OR give some sort of noticeable message in game. Relying on the forums is bad form.
If I had logged on my original main a month from now and found my stuff missing, I would have assumed I'd been hacked. I'm sure that there are > 1 person out there who doesn't read forums, logged on, saw stuff missing, and just quit without petitioning any one. WTG customer service.

That, to me, is an atrocity. Who the fuck is going to remember every single goddamn item in every single container on every single one of their characters. Blizzard never ceases to amaze me.

I lost all my FR gear that was stored in my last bank bag. Still haven't gotten anything back nor a response from Blizzard. Maybe it's a sign that I should never set foot in MC or BWL again. Then again perhaps it's a sign to just quit and do something constructive in the evenings. It's not like the PvP is fun at the moment ( or was before ).

I don't think I lost anything. I've been mostly inactive for the last 5 months, but I logged in a few times before the patch. Delayed my return until a week after the patch, just in case, and everything seems fine. One guy in my guild has lost a bag of bank stuff, but nobody else has said anything.
