More Thai : Thai Gourmet, Richmond between Hillcroft and Fountain View.  Also Thai Cafe on Westheimer and Wilcrest.  There's a ton of Thai places springing up all over town it seems...
There are lots of Thai places.  None of them are Nidda.

I'll have to look into that Rudi Lechner's.  We've been wanting a German place.

Awesome suggestions guys.

I'll be sure to check 'em out.

Love Niko's.

Been driving by Sushi Rock a lot these days, I'll be sure to check it out.

And Nidda's.  This week for sure.

I'm a fan of Goode for BBQ.  Not holyshitsellmylifeSaltLick, but it's yum.

Apparently, sitting out in the cold and rain at 9AM for a cupcake game against Slippery Rock Nowhere State makes you a true fan.

I have no interest in being such a fan. I will enjoy the game from my house on my HDTV with my heater on. This is Georgia, not Green Bay.

Mark's on Westheimer is good, but pricey. I've been trying all day to remember the name of another resteraunt I dearly love, and I cannot remember it.

Cafe Artiste is good. There's a Japanese resteraunt on Alabama in the same strip center where the coverted theater bookstore used to be (they closed that, right?) that I've always liked. The Hobbit Cafe is enjoyable.

Might could try Nidda next time I hit Magick Cauldron...  Is it Northern (soupy) or Southern (Indian) Thai, though?

Cafe Artiste closed down two or three years ago. tongue  It was more a coffee house, anyways.  There is something there now, but I'm not sure what or how good.

The sushi place is Zuma, I think.  I've never been there.  Azuma on Kirby near Goode's BBQ is great (sit upstairs if you can).  We usually go to Tomo on Westheimer.  There are a ton of decent sushi places though.

The owner and most of the help are from Bangkok.  There are a few soup dishes, but not a lot.  Why don't I just link the menu?  I'm told the Tom Kha Gai is to die for.  Their curries are really popular amongst all my friends, especially the massaman.  I tend to go for the Pad Kra Prao or some of the others in that section since I like beef and veggie dishes.

A real Thai cook is always a good sign of a good spot - Thai Cafe's the same way.  Not 100% sure about Thai Gourmet, but there's generally a large party of Indians in there and a wait most mealtimes I go.

And for those new to Thai, be sure to get it "Thai Hot" when they ask you how hot you want it.  The restaurant staff likes the amusement.  awesome, for real

Zuma's. I rather like it there. Cafe Artiste closed down? Then crap, what I am thinking of? Not Cafe Adobe....

Huh. Lately the only places I've been inside the loop to eat have been Fogo de Chao, Mark's, Zuma's, La Griglia, some place I'm totally blanking on the name of, and Hobbit Cafe.

Stupid shitty time change and my fancy shmancy alarm clock made me an hour late to work today. The first step of the robot uprising is making us late to work so we all lose our jobs and are replaced by them.

It's not the clock's fault, if you're saying your clock didn't roll back like it should have. You gained an hour, so 8am today is what 9am was yesterday. If anything you should have been an hour early.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

The problem was is that I set my alarm an hour late instead of setting the clock. Well, I didn't know my clock was going to roll itself back to the new time so I ended up waking up an hour late. One of the many times I counted on something being manual and was screwed.

So in other words, leaving the robots to do their jobs would have been the ideal solution.  Maybe the robots should be in charge.

There's a temperature swing of 45 degrees here in the last two days. It's getting a little absurd to try and dress for 30 in the morning and 75 at lunch.

Sounds like Houston winters...  Freezing at daybreak, over 70 by early afternoon.

Life in the Rockies got me used to this kind of weather extreme.  It is nuts to wake up to snow and come home to 65 degrees... especially in July.

Upstate NY does that all the time. The old saying goes "Don't like the weather? Wait a minute."

Layers. Learn hiker tricks, wool and wicking fabrics. I usually run hot, so it's not a problem for me. The fiancee is like a 3yr-old in a snowsuit, she wears so many layers.

It's Georgia, though. We don't have layers down here. We can barely function if it snows a half inch. People flip the fuck out and they close every school.

My first year in the south they closed my daughter's school because of EXTREME weather conditions.  It was 19 degrees.  Being raised in Minneapolis, my daughter found this hilarious.

Oh I find it hilarious as well. I've lived in Colorado for several winter seasons, and when it snows 2 feet in a day, I understand extreme weather conditions. When the Eisenhower tunnel is closed because of 5 feet of snow in a week, that makes sense.

I drove my Mustang home last year in February when it iced a half inch. The people that I worked for thought I had lost my damn mind. "How can you drive a sport car in that!?!? Aren't you worried about ice!?!?"

 Ohhhhh, I see.

I've watches places shut down because of a 'heat wave' -- in the low 90s. I could function just fine. They couldn't. It's all about what you're used to, what things are built for.

Heck, I'd imagine most of the people here in Houston probably don't even have a coat that's really meant for snowy weather.

Honestly, no one in North America has a clue who Guy Fawkes was. Even for those of us who do, you'd be really hard pressed to find a single person out of a crowd who could tell you what month Guy Fawkes day falls in, let alone what day.

That being said, I should have figured it out.

The exception to this is American pyrotechnicians, both amateur  and professional, who figure that any excuse for shooting off fireworks is a good one.

My sympathies - both legs is not good. My 140lb beast of a dog tore his in one back leg when he was about three. Due to his size, the vet basically said we could spend $1000 to fix it, and he'd likely blow it again a month later - so we didn't. We were actually worried we might lose him.

Seven years later he would still run the back fence of my parents yard every day with his crazy looking lope. He was slow going up stairs, and would lay down to eat, but he never acted like it pained him. The big lug lived to almost thirteen.

Oh goodness...

I hate to say it, but you either need to get it done, or...well, let's just say that despite what Bunk said, I think she would be in pain, and that isn't fair to the dog.  I hope you're in a position where you can get it done.  I had a cat years ago I had to do it for, and never really regreted it.
