I thought about it, but that's cruel and inhumane.  Soundwave if you're going to stick with Decepticons.

I see we are going to disagree on a great deal of items in this topic.  Soundwave is only slightly better than Jazz or Bumblebee.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Soundwave is like the Creature Handler of the robotic world.  It's a natural draw for me.

OK. Back home. So, I was at a chiptune show, you know - people that make music out of old soundchips like shit on a gameboy. Well, "music." Anyway! This guy from Japan was brought over - HALLY. He brought the composer for Mega Man 9 on stage - she can only be described as all the weirdness of Japan wrapped into one person. And that person has a button you can press and it all explodes. I took video, I need to grab it off my phone, but not tonight.

There's an anime composer who I thought embodied the weirdness of Japan. Not really weird actually, just infantile. She did the Bebop soundtrack among many other things. Apparently the creator of that series also based Radical Ed on her... so you get the idea.

I suck at Mega Man 9

At the risk of making this thread non-Useless (sorry Viin):

1. Awesome.
2. You must be talking about Yu Shimoda.
3. Shimoda does not appear on last.fm but the other three do.

http://www.last.fm/music/Ippo+Yamada
http://www.last.fm/music/Ryo+Kawakami
http://www.last.fm/music/Hiroki+Isogai

The idea of limiting the sounds used to make the soundtrack is something I approve of in a nostalgic and nerdy way.
Quote from: Siliconera, Oct 4 2008
Siliconera: The music of Mega Man 9 is often casually referred to as “NES music,” but in the liner notes to the soundtrack you mention that the sounds are emulated. What techniques did you use to simulate the NES sound card?
Ippo Yamda: Strictly speaking the soundtrack of Mega Man 9 is not NES music, but to its very core it has been created in the spirit of NES music. We made use of a program that closely resembles the console’s sound source, producing very similar waveforms, and thereby were able to make music tracks that sound just like the original. In the days of Mega Man 1-6, you were challenged to manipulate the audio signals produced by the sound card within the range designated by the restrictions of the hardware. Naturally in making this game we had no hardware restrictions, but we stuck to the formula of three pulse wave channels and one noise channel. Within this framework we freely went about composing music.
...
Ippo Yamada: To generate the sound effects we used Macs and PCs running a program called MML (Music Macro Language).

Also good advice, but I'm assuming he has already tried that.

Also also, Yu Shimoda has a page but does not return in a search on last.fm, so 'wtf last.fm':

Thanks, those don't look bad - too bad they only have one style in black. Who buys pleated pants anyways?!?

Dockers are OK, and seem pretty standard. I'll probably end up with at least a pair or two.

That's what I wonder every time I find a great weave and color and then notice they're goddamned pleated. Some stores are like 80% pleated vs non!  ACK!

I have actually worked at a couple of places where it was written specifically in the dress code that men were to only wear pleated slacks with button up professional dress shirts and ties. Also flat front doesn't always look good on everyone.

If you have to wear something annoying like smart casual trousers anyway, what's wrong with pleated?  Do they feel funny or something?

What's the problem with pleats btw?  Is it a body thing?  If that's the case, I'm going to bet I'm in better shape than 90% of the people under 35 here.  Maybe I need to consider flat front... time to go shopping!

About half my suits have pleated pants...I'm indifferent to it.

I've been told that pleats look good/bad depending on your posterior. I don't get it myself.

Ok. The Faconnable jeans are no longer available, so that's not an option. Also, I don't know shit about shopping in Denver. That said:

Grey Pants: http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/?page_id=94 <-- Just get them hemmed. Also, really just amazing pants.
Khakis: http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/?page_id=91 <-- Also get these hemmed.

I really can't say enough nice things about Naked & Famous given their <$200 price point. Regular Khakis are just sort of f'ing disgusting and good jeans look better than them 10 out of 10 times (not to mention more comfortable). Particularly mass market trash like Dockers. That shit is the modern Bugle Boy pant. As far as other companies go in that price range, if you don't seriously need chinos or even nearly suit pants, I'd just stick with jeans. You'll be happier in the long term.

Pleats look like shit, Strazos. This applies to every last one of you. Especially you fatties that stretch the pleats out. God, just stop it.

If I can make one person dress a little nicer on these boards, it'll make my day that much better. And by that much better, I mean not at all. Just get something comfortable. If you can rock Dockers, hey, more power to you. That crap is just dreadful looking. I went to their site to see if it had gotten better and I nearly threw up. I blame Sky for even bringing it up as an option, though, somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

Really, I just won't wear pants that can wrinkle. Either pressed slacks or jeans. At least jeans LOOK right when they stack and such.

All that said, I have no clue how big you are Viin, so this all may be wasted and it might be worth just going to Old Navy and getting some 2-for-1 $19.99 Chinos made by an 8 year old kid in Asia.

Nebu, stop wearing pleated pants.

Edit: Oh, and if you don't want to spend much, just go to Banana Republic. Don't go anywhere near Dockers. Spent $50 at BR and get something that at least looks business professional and classy. The new J Crew stuff is pretty nice too.

Though I wish they'd stop trying to charge $98 for a goddamn utility shirt.

The internet says that pleats are designed for trousers worn on the waist. They don't make sense when worn on the hip.

I'm sitting here at my desk at work in a pair of Eddie Bower khakis (non-pleated). Comfortable as can be, but damn do they get wrinkled easily. I hate ironing.

I fully admit, I am over 35 and have zero fashion sense. Comfort is key.

Righ rarely wears anything but jeans and none of those have pleats.  I'm not sure jeans even come with pleats.  I don't remember if any of his smart casual trousers have pleats.  None of his suits, do, I'm pretty sure.  I don't know any men who wear leggings.  I don't go to Renaissance fairs and that's the only place I can imagine they would.  I don't men the pajama looking sort of hippie trousers that men and women sometimes wear.  Actually, I don't think I care what other people wear at all except that my sister wears really, really ugly shoes.  It makes for a good teasing opportunity, though.
