Possible fractured foot. Need an X-Ray. Anyone ever have a pain on top of their foot, beneath the toe bones before (mines under my pinky toe)? It's weird.. It doesn't hurt when it's suspended, but there are certain angles when I'm standing or walking where I get a little jolt of pain and need lift the pressure.

That's what it felt like when I broke one of my metatarsals. If you don't have insurance and don't think there's bone splinters don't bother with the cost of the doctor and the x-ray.  There's no way to splint those so they just tell you to keep your weight off it until it heals and sorry about your luck.

IANAD, but I have broken my foot often enough in rugby to have been told the spiel by doctors often enough to have it off by heart.  Apart from the bone splinter thing (which, from experience, you will know about from the terrifying again when knocked) you want to watch out for any displacement.  Oh, and arthritis is now a good chance, but hey: medical science will fix that shit before it's a problem.

Yeah, I had the same thing when I broke a metatarsal (along with several other bones). Still twinges sometimes when my foot hits a certain angle. Go see a doctor.

When I broke my little toe they usually said they just tape it up and tell people to keep it taped to the toe next to it because there is nothing they can do.  I wasn't so lucky.  Have any free or cheap clinics nearby you can get it looked at?

I'm doing well as far as insurance goes. Now it's just a matter of me mustering up the nerve to take advantage of it. I hate going to the doctor.

If it does need attention and you wait, you're likely to do additional damage or cause permanent injury.  The subsequent doctors' visits will be less pleasant. Think of it as going to hang out with a bunch of chicks in scrubs and you'll be all nonchalant and relaxed.

So, yesterday I hit this at..about 90 kph: The result: Never had to cross one of those before, nor was I ever taught to. Was using my seatbelt and climbed out through the passenger's door completely unharmed, at which point ran to the submerged section and started taking pictures like mad. The vehicle's cage, and all of it's windows, held. Go go Toyota SUV.

Could be slower. 90 is already 20 bellow max speed in that section. Police officers said that if I were speeding the car would have pirouetted quite a bit more, so, no fine. State's department of roads responsibility for not keeping the drainage ditch cleaned. Glad I took loads of pictures of the flooded section.

So, yesterday I hit this at..about 90 kph:
Yeah, as some one who grew up driving on flooded Florida back roads that was a bad idea.  You want to slow down and take stuff like that at a walk.  Even a little to fast and water will shoot up into the engine and stall you out, a lot to fast and you see what you get. Now, if you had been driving a VW bug you would have been fine.  They float and you would have just skimmed along the top and floated to the other side.  A friend and I used to do it all the time in his bug.

The vehicle's cage, and all of it's windows, held. Go go Toyota SUV.    Behold the power of hydroplaning. Go go 5-star crash rating on Toyota SUVs. Glad you're ok, great job taking pics, some people forget to do so after an accident. I remember an old steel deck bridge I use to slide across in my VW rabbit, scary as hell. I'm like Murgos, I go slow as hell through any water. I don't really understand people who jet through, but I see it all the time around this time of year if there's a rain, we just had one last week and sure enough, people were raising huge sheets of water flying through flooded sections. Then I remember how easy it is to get licensed.

Scary, man. Glad you had a good car.
I'd just like to say that even some of us northerners know about hydroplaning. Storms that drop enough water to make you hydroplane on highways teach this to us of the non-swamp states.

Yar, for sure. Some flooding a couple years back while we were over near VT made us detour a hundred miles just to find passage up this one side of a valley. First thing I thought when I bought the FJ was....I bet I could've forded over the bridge in this! (I wouldn't have, current was way too strong, river was two feet over the bridge).

Geez.  Glad to hear you're fine, Itto.
Like the Floridians we have to be careful all along the Gulf coast.  Hydroplaning always freaks me out.  Too many people think they can drive in wet weather like they can on a dry surface, too.

Heh, Truth. Also, I get to be extra careful i standing water, because if I have to ford anything above, oh, lets say 3 inches or so, I have to do it quickly or risk flooding my exhaust. I cannot imagine it'd be any fun.
