Ohno the dreaded queue on psdirect

wait time over an hour suuure
I like how the bar is like only 1/30 filled even though the wait time is "more than an hour", as if they expected people to be willing to wait more than 24 hours in the virtual queue to get into the store page.

Edit: add page break quote

Pro-tip: hammer esc before the queue page pops up to bypass it  Ohhhhh, I see. swamp poop

That's how people had them in their carts from earlier and were able to complete checkout this time.

I actually got the digital edition into my cart before it sold out. It may have been in stock for 1 minute.

edited to add: My tab where I was in the queue never changed position, even as I was in another tab putting the ps5 in my cart. And it still keeps trying to punt me into a queue now and again. The shoes of a clown.

So took the wife for a walk in the State park down the street from us. Park the car, get out and start walking to the trails and about 20ft above us is a bald eagle gliding around the winds. I grabbed the wife's arm and pointed at it and said 'Murica! Fuck YEA!'

I actually think I heard her eyes roll this time.

Actually had a PS5 in my walmart cart (again) and got all the way through the process but the site started bogging during payment and...out of stock again.

Amazing.

The Amazon PS5 delivery debacle: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-11-20-amazon-playstation-5-customers-report-receiving-toys-kitchen-appliances-instead

Sounds like couriers at least have been stealing PS5s during delivery.

Humanity required selfishness to evolve, but now that same trait will be its downfall.

I mean, if you want to dispose of steady income for a gaming console...

wonder how cost effective that actually is. Anyone know how much a courier makes in a week?

Yeah but it's In-N-Out Burger awesome, for real

Actually I'm a bit surprised at the response since the Denver metropolitan area has a couple of Shake Shacks already which in the same segment of "fast"* food burger chains using freshly ground beef. And they certainly aren't there cause of their fries...

* They aren't really particularly fast like a McDonald's is

Hey ya! That's near me now!  ACK!

But yeah, people around here are morons - even in my apartment complex - the majority are roaming around with their dogs and no masks... even the managers are routinely without them.

And driver's licenses, verified accounts required those, I believe. The mind boggles how that platform became the place for conspiracy nuts.

Also really love that it boomed after the election, I was able to distance from a few more folks that I suspected of being nuts, though I unfortunately lost a few channels I enjoyed when they slid over the edge. I had a feeling when non-political channels all started posting weird political shit during election week, everyone one that did that ended up 'moving' to parler.

Anyway, I'm bummed I couldn't find turkey breast halves this year. I was going to triple down on them to make leftovers for our moms to feast on for way too long (food never spoils at mom's house! maybe cut out that green part tho). A ton of massive turkeys everywhere, so I expect to get one this weekend for super cheap. I hope that's a sign some folks are canceling Thanksgiving, but then again, people are selfish and stupid, so...I just don't want to cook a whole bird, such a pain in the ass to deal with. Hams were largely sold out, there were only 2 brand-name hams in the 2 stores I checked, meaning half my city is sold out of quality hams (and I guess I'm trying hormel this year).

Things we do for our moms, man. The old lady and I would've been fine with scallop fettucini or whatever. When the public moves one way, we just go the other way.

The only place here that had turkey breasts as well as turkeys was ALDI.

And these stupid, selfish people all being interviewed on CNN "I just need to see my family."

And all of them taking a test to "say that they don't have covid."

(Says the guy going across town to visit his mom tomorrow)

Yeah, people seem to be equating a negative test with being able to visit anyone for the holidays.

We thought there'd be Chinese food open for lunch today, but there wasn't. The literal only thing open was Sonic, so I had a breakfast burrito and a chili cheese frito wrap. The latter sounds less awful than it was though it's not something I'd recommend.

I been picking monkey bread all day. Now cooking a turkey breast and going to add some zucchini and potatoes. Didn't have to drive or fly any where to see family for the first time in about 20 years.

Standing rib roast. I don't make it any other time: I'm not actually that fond of prime rib. But it feels Xmas-luxurious and it makes great leftovers in terms of sandwiches etc for the next 5 days or so.

We did the traditional Christmas goose with trimmings. I'd made beef bourginon for Xmas eve dinner (not any kind of tradition but I'd bought some beef short ribs that needed using) and we had a lot of left over sauce to add to the goose which was amazing. My parents have told me they've just about finished the leftovers now (I was with them since I'm currently living solo so qualify for their support bubble)
