Wife sent this Braves stadium video (under Experience tab) to me: http://batteryatl.com/#top
Which really is an illustrated guide to how my commute is going to suck in 2017.

Although the traffic in the video looks EXTREMELY light. why so serious?

We have a place in Austin called The Domain. It's basically literally Sodosopa.

Also, yea, as Trippy said, fuck that place forever.

Fortunately (?) that's on the work end.  You can see my office building (not Comcast).  I'm sure we will have a "Braves Home Game" calendar around which we will work.

I still live in a hay field.

Yes that'll suck too for day games. We have that sort of calendar where I work for the Giants.

The Optimist if you can get a reservation there. It's one of the best in the city in terms of restaurants.
The General Muir for upscale Jewish deli in Emory Point.
Desta for great Ethopian food on Briarcliff.
The Colonnade if you're into the classic soul food southern meat and 3 type place.
The Varsity if you want a chili dog and rings at the world's largest drive-in
Fox Brothers if you want BBQ.
Kevin Rathbun's steakhouse if you're in a steak mood.
The Vortex for burgers and cool waitresses and atmosphere.
Seven Lamps if you like hole-in-the-wall artisan they make everything from scratch menus

Yeah, well, I think all the places I went when I moved to the ATL are closed in some fashion.  Except Waffle House and Varsity.

I'd recommend Christo's except I don't know what you mean by "visiting Atlanta".  Most everything here is shitty so just order room service and go out to the alley for a $10 BJ.

Nah, we have a group of 5 of us that love White Castle here. One trip across the river every month or two.

In fact, now that you mention it I think I know what to do for Lunch next Tuesday.

You could try Gunshow as well, though it can be tough to get in.

Morelli's has the best salted caramel ice cream...ever.

Fox Bros is pretty great for bbq.

There's also a Spanish tapas place I cannot remember the name of, but it's pretty legit. They also do kale and Brussels sprouts in ways I actually find edible.

I'm looking for something simple. Vortex sounds cool. I had to take out a potential distributor today for a quick meal. Ended up ordering 60$ worth of drinks.

Vortex has a great scotch lineup.  We accidentally saw Kevin MacDonald there and had to tell him we were not there to see his show and our food was arriving soon.

Vortex is good for simple. So is Noche in the highlands for tapas. Or Hudson Grille if you're looking for a sports bar atmosphere.

Beer selection seems excellent.

Edit2
Local beer live blog
Laughing skull Amber ale from Atlanta is a pretty hearty brew. Holds up to other ambers but doesn't stand out. Had good flavor.

Burnt hickory Graham cracker imperial Stout from  Kennesaw is amazing. One of those best local stouts ice had in my travels. A++

Sweetwater pale ale from Atlanta is really an excellent standard d pale ale. It's got a bit of a happiness that reminds me of an IPA bit its not as overbearing.

Yeah, I've always found ATL to be pretty awesome for food, and even the really nice places are pretty cheap in comparison to WASHDC, for example.

ATL isn't bad, but Savannah is the place to eat when in GA.

I decided today I should start learning a second language.  Maybe German.  I like how it sounds.

Are online classes like at Udemy a good place to start?

German has about a dozen words for the word "the" and three genders.  I took a German class in high school and was terrible at it.  Now I hold it against their people.

German is fun in that you want a word for something you just add all the words that describe it into one long ass word and Presto!, new word.

'Reality' is the only word in the language that should always be used in quotes.

Yeah, here's a fun little video to show that concept.  (It's in German, but it's pretty easy to follow what's going on)

I referred to it in college, and still do to this day, as the Lego of languages, the professor laughed and kinda agreed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG62zay3kck

The worst example I saw was a girlfriend I had who was reading Immanuel Kant in the original German, there was a word in there that was quite literally 3 lines long.

Chinese is similar and if there's one language that you should learn to prepare yourself for the post-US Hegemony era it's Mandarin. Also no verb conjunction (fuck that shit).

An example:

chē (车) means wheeled vehicle.

qìchē (汽车) is literally "steam wheeled vehicle" or car

huŏchē (火车) is "fire wheeled vehicle" or train

and gōnggòngqìchē (公共汽车) is "publicly shared wheeled vehicle" or bus

Edit: another one -- computer is diànnăo (电脑) or "electric brain"

Labor in China is too expensive now (about the same as in Mexico) -- places like Bangladesh are where it's at now.
