I spent 10 years in California being asked "why don't you sound like you're from Texas?" when people were told where I was from.  My parents specifically had parents themselves who broke any and all regional accents in themselves and their kids because 60+ years ago you didn't get a good high paying job sounding like you came out of North Alabama or Eastern Tennessee.  So I apparently sound like I'm from nowhere.  I really only use "y'all" ironically now, same with making fun of people saying "allz" and "hella."  Being back in the south I still giggle when I hear true southern accents.

If you are making anything that little girls would like (you know, fairies, puppies, unicorns, ponies, or, preferably, all of the above) send me a link.

I checked it out, see Rhyssa's Esty link in her sig, and there's plenty of stuff a little girl (or big boy) would love.  Like This.  They're beautiful!  I love them all!

Also:  I am tired of Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Thanks, Signe!

Viin - I haven't posted it yet, but I've done names before in a "fancy" way.. embellished, I guess.  Here's two examples I did for a FB friend:

She gave me the basic colors each girl liked and I worked with that.  These aren't too large though, paper is only 7.5 x 9 so the painting is a bit smaller than that.  Could do flowers or something else like fairies, just haven't tried yet.

I feel left out. My iTunes didn't automatically download shit. I want to be part of the collective music industry apocalypse damn it.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

No and no, so I only vaguely know what's happened. Everyone with iTunes had an album downloaded to their device?

I do not feel left out at all - only happy I never use iTunes because FUCK APPLE. I haven't listened to a U2 album since Pop. I would remedy that since I don't have a visceral dislike of them, but I can't be arsed because I'm enjoying the asstons of music in my Spotify playlists.

Said it to a buddy the other day- Bono would have been a legend if he died in 1990. Now he is just a douchebag.

Couldn't the same be said for Sting as well?

If Bono had died before Southpark, 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' would be considered one of the best pop songs ever.

Now it's just an anthem for assholes.

Probably. I feel like Sting has done a better job of embracing his image as a shithead though. Like playing a thinly disguised version of himself in LS&2SB.

I knew about the U2 album thing, but I don't see why it's Heinous.

Then again I never set my iDevices to the "automatically download purchases" setting. I prefer to manage things manually.

My take on all this is that Sting and Bono should reside in the same douche bag together.  The bag being, of course, Lars Ulrich.  Oh wait... this was about the Apple Tool, right?  I don't care.

Heh, even without auto download it's still on the phone but just not physically there.  It's in the cloud.  awesome, for real swamp poop   One day I'll be motivated enough to remove it.

My problems are so first worldy.  We're to the point where we're ready to start building our new house and... non-committal job "offer" resurfaces for my wife.  "Hey, we still want to hire you, we just don't have any money for it.  Why don't you stick around and wait a while longer?"  Argh!

I'll have to look when I'm not visiting the home office.  It's an mp3 I've had for years.  (I think Tiffany with FLA.)

And yes, I know... Tiffany.  There's nothing 'special' about it other than being sung by someone who isn't U2, but I like the version so it's in my normal song rotation.

I just had someone do something so technically retarded that all we could do was laugh once we realized what he did.  Thank god it's in a test environment or he would have opened up a VMware hellmouth and doomed the entire site.  Poor fella lost about 2 days worth of work, but no one will notice since they're all prepping for an audit.

This day started great, but is starting to just get weird.  It's just going to get weirder as well.

So I'm currently on travel to respond to the Hurricane Odile fiasco in Mexico.

All I can say is...please read travel warnings before going abroad somewhere. And if someone you know gets t by a disaster like this, when you send us emails...please provide all pertinent specific info up-front, or else you may be waiting a while just to get a response that says we need more info on the person you're looking for.

The Kickstarters already went out on time?

Thoughts on it? As advertised? $400 is pretty much a sweet spot for something like this.

It was imperfect on delivery. Wife's was in the first batch. They're already making packing improvements. However, works 100% and is altogether a great desk. I'll miss my original Ikea Jerker, but this is an adequate replacement.
