The card I'D play? You are aware of the reputation of BMW owners right? That wasn't even a low blow. That was the high road.
I am aware.  You also know me pretty well.
Yes, so I know you understand sample sizes. As such, I'm not sure why you'd take offense.

Edit: Also, I know you understand the concept of the exception that proves the rule.

Warning:  Multiquote ahead.

Heh - the styling is very 'of the moment', to be sure.  The asymmetric doors just add to the weirdness - they even reverse the body for RHD countries, meaning entirely different tooling and production, so they were definitely committed to the idea.  My own personal example tops all of the crazy off with a red-accented interior, but no panoramic roof, actually - just a weird split-window/hatch like the old Honda CR-X - the Veloster is more like the CRX than the CR-Z is, imo.

The huge grille trend I think started with Audi - ever since they started putting those monolithic grilles on their cars and making them all look like the same sausage in different lengths, everyone else decided to follow suit.

Is that the Tiburon?  I always thought they looked like a Mitsubishi copy.

I'm a german car fan.  I guess I never got used to the feel of Japanese/Korean cars.  Nothing feels quite like an Audi/VW/BMW to me.  They connect to me, the driver, in a way I haven't found elsewhere.

The black car?  That's a fouth-gen Toyota Supra - probably the best of the high-dollar Japanese sports cars of the 90's/00's, though I preferred the Z32-era 300ZX.  My brother's VW experience (2000 Jetta) pretty much put them off out entire family's list forever - it was a troubled relationship, to say the least.

I loved my Genesis Coupe while I had it - looked great, lots of tech toys, tons of fun to drive fast and the sound it made was just about perfect - every empty on-ramp was an excuse to go all dorifto!, but it's harder and harder lately to find stretches of road where you can do dumb things and not endanger other people.  That said, the ride was absolutely brutal on anything but perfect pavement - when I first got it, that harshness was 'part of the experience'.  After three years, it was just more than I wanted to deal with on the drive to work.  I guess I'm getting old.

You guys might laugh at me but I love our Kia Optima. It is really comfortable and it rides really solid. While definitely not a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination it is peppy when you need it to be and has no trouble cruising comfortably on the highway or around town. It also get great gas mileage, when I drive it at least. I fear that my wife is a lead foot driver. It was also very cheap.

Great car - Kia has turned it around in record time, and poaching Peter Schreyer from Audi means that their newer stuff looks the business too.

Yes that was Audi. The creases are from BMW. The 4-door slanted roof "coupe-look" is from Mercedes.

Actually, that specific huge grill is more reminiscent of the Evo line. Especially early aftermarket modified evos and the evo x from about what, 9 years ago?

Edit: The most ridiculous grill award, however, goes to Bentley. With a special honorary prize to Rolls Royce.

I don't know much about cars but there were a few years there that Ford put the same ugly grill on all of their vehicles.  It was like they wanted to standardize a look across their whole line up but since I hated that look I hated all their cars.  Not that I needed much incentive to hate Ford to begin with.

Oddly, my favorite car I've ever owned was a Ford - specifically a '00 Focus ZX3 hatch.  It wasn't fast, tech-laden or pretty (in fact, it was kinda funky looking, too) or any of that, but I got it fairly cheap, it never gave me a bit of trouble, you could cane the fuck out of it and it always kept coming back for more and (this is key) I owned it at a time in my life when I had a lot less responsibility, so when I remember that car, it's through that lens.  The Veloster kinda reminds me of that car - certainly much more than the current 'grown-up' Focus does.

I loved my Z31-300ZX  (didn't know the prefix until that link).

Fucking uninsured motorist ran a red light WAY late.  "It was still yellow" my arse.  At least the front end was long enough to absorb the blow from an Oldsmobile plowing into it.

Craigslist is a fucking wasteland of cell phones. I wish I could survive without a phone. I fucking hate the things. Ugh. Getting this screen replaced it like $220. Battery life on the fucking thing is abysmal too. Fuck that industry right in the eye holes.

Current one or the previous model?  Very nice car either way, though I like the look of the '05-13 cars more.

Did F13 notice "venture capitalist Brock Pierce was appointed to the Bitcoin Foundation's board of directors following a May 2014 runoff election, filling vacancies left by the earlier resignations of former BitInstant CEO Charlie Shrem and Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpeles"? As in IGE Brock Pierce. Just crossed my radar.

It's a 2008. They did a recall on the engine too, so I got a new engine put in the thing last year. It's like a brand new car.

There are very rare occasions where I'm glad that I don't have a smartphone.  When I'm hiking in remote areas and when I drop my phone.

What phone is that and is it available as a GSM phone?  I keep meaning to get a cheap (ideally ruggedized) flip phone (and micro-SIM adapter) for times when I'd be worried about losing/destroying my regular phone.

Looks like a Casio GZ phone. I imagine they have GSM phones but all the new ones look like touchscreens. I think they may have discontinued the flip phone line but you can probably still buy one on ebay or some other after market store.

This.  I have the GZone flip phone.  HUGE battery, great remote reception, and you can throw the thing against a wall without fear.

I like a smart phone fine, but I sure don't love it to the tune of $90/month rather than $7/month. If work discontinued my iphone, I'd go back to a Virgin flip.

I am glad I am not the only one who does this incessantly. Last night I was watching American Hustle and thought I recognized JLaw's boyfriend so I had to confirm that was indeed Mr. Harrow from Boardwalk Empire.

How can you put a price on that?

I have a procedure doc multiplaying itself out of control in my Google Drive folder and it is driving me crazy. I've deleted several thousand copies of it so far, and I can't figure out which device it's repopulating itself from.

Should have picked Office 365.  why so serious?

Hey, so if you're like me then you would be interested in watching Netflix on WiiU since it will show you who is in the current scene on the pad and you can immediately drill down into someone's face and get their info.

Also, it's good to know that I am still actually Dilbert, even after all this time.
