I got invited to do a 5m guest spot on CBS Sports radio, so that's neat.

I can't imagine it takes that long to say "you're wrong" at the top of your voice and storm out.   Ohhhhh, I see.

It's about my Braves blog actually. It got noted by one of the national guys who's based in Atlanta.

That's pretty neat. I follow a fair number of NHL bloggers on twitter and they interact more and more with the mainstream media up here. There's a big push in NHL circles for a more statistical approach to the game, something bloggers have been championing for awhile and now the mainstream guys are starting to pick up on it.

That's very cool, Sir.

NHL statistics?  Interesting.  Have to put something in if there aren't going to be any fights.

You can watch the radio at any time and it will appear the same on the outside.

OK, how about this one:
Look Behind You

For casual reference, it works great as well: Look You
Answer phone: "Hello, this is Look"
"Hi, this is Ms You"

It's called the John Kincade show, he does Sunday mornings for CBS Sports Radio.

The topic is home-grown blogs and their growth in media. I'm sure I'll get the chance to discuss my feelings on the season for the Braves as well.

It's always a Sunday.  And it's the Sunday after this, not this one.  2nd Sunday of May, every year with Fathers day the next month.

awesome, for real

The terror instilled by this holiday is indeed cross-cultural.

It occurred to me just now that I'll have to call my mom.  I was mostly thinking about my wife.  My terribly neglected wife.

Just spent most of the day talking to banks getting pre-approved for a home loan.

Just put in my first ever offer on a house to buy (which I doubt they will accept, I doubt they will even except how high I am willing/able to go, but you never know what someone will accept until you offer, right?).

 ACK!

Most likely unless I move out of the area entirely. It is quite a bit larger than I need for myself right now, so if in some wacky world I get married and have kids, it should be fine for that.

Try searching the listing in the back of those survivor magazines.  You'll find someone.  I'm sure you'll have loads of kids and your world will be way wacky.  Good luck and hope you get the house you want!

We're cursed when making offers for a house.  We just put in a what we considered a reasonable offer.  Owner won't even counter offer because he wants a full price offer or nothing.  Ohh well, the offer we made was priced above what the comparable homes went for in the neighborhood, and those houses also had pools (this one doesn't).   Full price for that house would be nuts, but they might get it because of how crappy the inventory here is now.

At our desired price range and area, all we get are crazy old people.  They're not fun to deal with.

So yeah, the house I put the offer in on is my boss's old house that she sold like 2-3 years ago (before property values in Champaign tanked). It is now vacant and the current owners are paying the short if they sell for less than the current loan value as they have to sell as part of their divorce settlement.

I offered way below value as I can't afford it at anywhere near full price.

Their counter offer: $2k under what they paid for it (list price), and must close in 45 days or less.

Apparently they don't understand the idea of being desperate to sell very well.

I told my realtor to offer the max of what I am approved for/can afford which is still considerably lower than their asking price. I doubt I will get it but I will know tomorrow when the offer expires.

On my third house. I hate selling housing. Buying is fine. Have had great realtors. But selling sucks. Good luck Chimpy.

Daughter told me a joke today:

Her: Knock Knock
Me: Who's there
Her: Interrupting Chicken
Me: Interrupting Ch....
Her jumping in: Bawk bawk bawk

Should have seen it coming.

In my defense, this was before my first coffee.

Also, random fact: Bailey's has a lot of fucking calories. A lot more calories than I am willing to invest when I'm pairing back on everything just so I can eat the kind of things I like as long as I eat a whole less of all of it. I mean shit, I haven't had a nonfat latte in three month. I'm certainly not dropping 1/3 of my calories for the day on a goddamned glass of Baileys.

Which sucks. Because I love Baileys.

Once you start realizing how many calories you can easily drink in a single sitting or 3 per day, it suddenly becomes much less appealing to do so.  Hence why I don't drink soda anymore or anything but water, tea, and the occasional glass of skim milk.  Having 600 calories in one drink just feels wrong.

Didn't get the house. Probably best in the long run as it gives me time to save up a bit more. I don't have any sort if deadline to meet or anything.
