OMG did I make a great choice/find with this car.

On a side note: I apologize for not taking a picture of it next to the original Bigfoot monster truck (the dealer I bought it from has the truck parked on their lot) as I was running a but late and forgot about it until I was already back in Illinois.

Fucking snow in April !  It's barely sticking but still.

I hate quoting myself but..

So yesterday it went from snow to rain to sunshine. Then it started hailing then back to sunshine.  Then thunder and lightning and pea sized hail and finally sunshine.  As my mother says Mother Nature was PMSing pretty hard.

That's pretty much normal weather in NY.

The sunny warm days in March, that was fucked up.

Snow/rain/sun/hail/sun? Normal.

Was just reading a Reddit AmA from a guy who worked on a Cruiseline. Gave the following response to a question about what he ate while working. Had to share it for the total out of left field details:

Quote
I was able to eat in the guest dining rooms (if I signed up to eat in there and paid tips), and I was able to eat in the speciality restaurants (discount). Most crew can, but most crew don't. There's an unspoken rule on ships that crew don't eat in guest areas, even when they're allowed. It sucks that it's that way...they're usually allowed (if they sign up and pay) but it's frowned on when it happens...so it never happens.

The crew food is actually pretty good. In some cases better. It's realy international, and it's healthier. We don't waste as much, and we don't have the fatty sweet stuff they have upstairs.

You could always tell when we got hard ice cream in the mess that a lot of people had died that cruise, because they used our cold storage for bodies when the morgue was full. Happened a few times...always on Panama Canal cruises. Creepy, but true.

I don't find that odd.  Old people take cruises and old people die.

It's kind of interesting, actually.

Its interesting because they have to make room in the freezer that normal holds the icecream, to cram in more dead bodies.  ACK!

Very sharp, and I hope you enjoy it - those things are a ton of fun to just drive the snot out of.  :)  Regarding the red calipers, are they fitting Brembos to GTIs now, or are they just red?

This.  I mean, there is nothing wrong with them but no, they aren't Brembos.  If you actually intend to track your gti you will want better brakes.

Heart  my GTI, it's a really good, solidly made car that is zippy (or even fast with a few inexpensive after market improvements,<5s 0-60), gets good mileage, is surprisingly roomy and is fairly inexpensive.

How funny.

I just walked into the server room, and freaked out because it was warm in there.  Turns out it's 67 in there, and low 60s in the rest of the office.  Maintenance is getting around the broken thermostat by twisting the power, fan, and cool leads together, so the system's been running continuously for 2+ days now...

So, interesting day for the unemployed. While I was showering I remembered being gifted some Disney stock in 1982.

I don't remember how many shares it is, but even 10 shares back then is worth ~$22,080 today since it has a split multiplier of 48. (4:1, 4:1, 3:1).

Seems good.

Being on call for work 24-7 for any problem that my machines have because no one else knows how to fix them nor do they want to learn is sucky.  I've not had a full weekend where the phone didn't ring asking me to come in since March 1st.  Somehow I think this is going to kill me one day...

Yeah, got some friends down there, but you know. They have been warning about encroachment for a long, long time.

It is going to get very ugly.  BRAC has been chomping at the bit to close it down.

After this I may actually re-evaluate my thoughts on things.  When I say my oldest kids were across the street, I meant; they were 2 blocks away playing.

I vaguely remember people around here commenting about having a bunch of pokemon cards that they don't do anything with anymore. My kid has recently gotten into it, so I am looking to find some bulk cards to give him. If anyone wants to clean out a closet or something and get rid of cards I would be interested in buying them. I'm not interested in "collectible" stuff necessarily. More just looking for stuff so he has more cards at a reasonable price.

Galaxy Quest was on the tube today.  Movie's still funny, Sigourney's breasts in it, still fantastic.

Unfortunately, it also made me realize that movie is 13 years old.   ACK!

For me it's usually a 'god the effects are horrible, what year was this made', info button 2002 (MiB2). But then I, Robot from 2004 wasn't too bad, though I still hate anything filmed in front of a green screen.

Girlfriend wants a Sony NEX-C3 since we're traveling so much this year.

Does this shit ever go on sale? Same price at Amazon, Fry's, and Sony Style.
