Do you guys have this fun stupidity at the pumps?: The big sign at the station reads: $1.39.  Under it, is a little folding sign - "Save $.03 off posted price!". Sure enough, the actual price for the gas is $1.36/litre. This is at every fucking gas station here. This "promotion" has been going on at every station in the lowermainland for about four years running.

No, but I do save $.05 a gallon if I use my speedy card at Speedway during the summer.  Pretty much the same concept.

You don't really want to puke, you really want to kill the Human Remains department of your company and contractors.  This isn't unnatural or even naughty.  This is absofuckinglutely normal!  And of course they understand it.  They are billing you while you explain.

I'm not explaining shit.  Correction, I'll explain it again but I'm not fucking doing the work since it's not my job.  Even though it would be incredibly trivial, I don't plan on dicking with a vendor-supplied script for someone who is currently riding home on a bicycle and dodging cows, rather than studying up (using google on an awk error about a missing file and asking me to check on the timezone error isn't really studying!) and learning something.  I'll just copy and paste my explanation into a text file and reuse it.  I'll call my file 'shiva.txt'.

I'm either mildly allergic to soy milk or Cheerios.  So, it's not just Honey Nut Cheerios.

It can't possibly be honey nut cheerios.  There is no honey, nuts, or "cheerios" in there.  Blame that soy milk, especially if it's organic.

Set yourself up with some nice 3.25% homogeneous milk pumped full of hormones and you'll be fine.  You're probably coming off the estrogen high, that's your problem!

I had the same problem with soy milk.  I can't stand the stuff honestly.  I can eat tofu and all other wonderful organic compounds, but soy milk just makes me retch due to all the throat and taste issues it gives me.  Might just be the brand though as chocolate soy milk doesn't do the same thing.

Could very well be the soy milk. I used to get that itchy feeling with soy milk as a kid. What happens when you drink soy milk straight up?

I'll let you know tomorrow.  Throat feels pretty bad at the moment.  I've never actually drank it straight up.  I just use it in cereal.

Drinking regular milk for me is.. not fun.

Oh man.. I had the best fuel day ever.  I was pretty much on empty and went to the station by my house, and they had just changed their prices for the day.  2.99 a gallon for regular... well i noticed that they had mispriced premium at frigging .319 cents.  I totally filled my tank today for a whole $4.50 lol.

Regular milk also does not like me, but I hate soy milk.  I have never been able to drink enough of it to know if it disagrees with me or not.  I have only had a sip and a bite of soy ice cream once.  It tastes spoiled to me.  Nasty.  People think it's healthy but enough of it does nasty things, especially to women.  I don't like the taste of rice milk, either.  I'm going to try almond or hazelnut milk next time I go to Whole Foods.  I can tolerate enough cow's milk for a bit of cereal and in some cooking but I'm always ready for an alternative.  If you absolutely cannot do with out milk, you can get pills to make you tolerant.  Now THAT sounds healthy!

Soy milk is nastastic.. i can't stand it.  Then again I won't drink milk unless it's actual whole milk.  The 2% stuff just tastes too watered down for me.. and lets not even get into skim milk.

I use vanilla rice milk on cereal. Soy milk is quite nasty.

Sheep milk isn't bad, but is hard to find. Goat milk is evil. Like soy milk strained through sweaty socks.

I've only had plain rice milk and didn't like it.  I'll try the vanilla.  It doesn't matter what flavour soy milk though, it's all nasty.

I just use run-of-the-mill Borden's. 2%. Not drinking whole milk really makes a difference (fat wise)...

I like whole milk when it's chocolate though.

They work pretty well for me and aren't terribly expensive.  I suppose it depends on how lactose intolerant you are.  Stuff like straight milk, cheese cake, and whipped cream can power past the pill (Lactaid is what I use).

I have a friend that the pill won't help at all and a cousin that lactose can kill her (almost did as a child). At least for me it's containable.

As a German girl, I wholeheartedly accept dairy products. All kinds, no problem. Too much and I can get a little phlegmy, but I never drink more than a glass of milk or a latte at a time. Whole milk tastes WAY too rich, though, and I can only really consider 2% or skim a beverage.

Today is a stock-making, sauce and pickle-canning day. I have a new pressure cooker and will wear my favorite apron. I feel like Susie Homemaker! Yay!

I cannot live without milk. Was never really a big fan outside of w/cereal growing up but I've been drinking 3 gallons of whole milk a week for the last few years or so. Don't give me that 2% or skim crap, I want my moo cow fuck milk.

Look around for Lactaid milk.  I don't know how common it is.  I get their eggnog during the holidays and it actually tastes better than regular eggnog.  Plus it doesn't make me sick.

Fortunately I've never liked milk, so I don't miss it or need it.  I was so happy to find out I was lactose intolerant 'cause then I didn't need any excuses to avoid the stuff.  Gah!

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

I am currently enjoying my morning Tim Hortons coffee. The secret as to why it so popular? They use 18% cream in it. No grey coffee for me.

Only part German, then?

The problem here is that people who cannot drink milk are trying to capture some sort of Social Grail by drinking white fluids that are not milk.  Perhaps people feel like outcasts if they don't eat cereal with milk.  Perhaps they dislike the political views of lactose.  Doesn't matter.  What matters is that if it doesn't come from a mammal's tit, it's not milk and you probably shouldn't be drinking it.  I put fake milk consumption into the same category as hair-straightening, skin-bleaching and those enormous anime contact lenses.

If you're not supposed to drink milk, quit faking it.  Isn't it tough enough simply avoiding processed foods that contain milk products?  I don't drink paint because I'm paint intolerant.

I have to agree with Yeg.  I can tolerate some milk, a bit in cereal and in cooking, even cream - but I don't miss not drinking big frothy glasses of whole milk with my Oreos.  I don't even miss ice cream - root beer popsicles, ftw!   Like Lantyssa, I never really liked milk that much, anyway.  Actually, a big glass of frosty (not frothy) vodka sounds much nicer.  THAT I do miss!

PS  I also dislike Lactaid but I like eggnog.  As above, however, I don't really miss it.  I miss vodka the most!

Oh - and cigarettes.  Oh God, I miss cigarettes more than anything ever, even my misspent youth!

Tobacco is pretty awesome.  Sort of.  Not really.  I'm cancer intolerant, though, and there doesn't seem to be a pill for that.
