You know, Epic was ok and Elena enjoyed it, but if you're going to call your film Epic, it might be an idea to make it a little more Grand, you know ?

Paying for the plumbers to pick up my toilets from Home Depot has already paid off. One of the two delivered had a crack in the bowl, so they got to cart it back.

Went to HEB. They had all 3 varieties of Whataburger condiments. Turned that frown upside down.

Hell ya.

I went to GIS without hesitation, seeing the comment was from Ironwood.

Edit: He is correct.

I'm fucking balls deep in EERDs for this database class.  Absolutely the most intriguing class I've taken in this degree, but my mind is melting.

Status report:  Now I'm fucking balls deep in dependency diagrams for normalization for this database class.  Luckily this is the last week of paper work, it's all labs in developer tools from here out.  I've figured out that my teacher is shitballs crazy in her desire for detail.  The difference between getting a 35 out of 40 pts vs 38 out of 40 pts is about three extra hours of checking to see if the PK, FK are all underlined and italicized properly.

The core content makes a ton of sense.  The mind melting comes from the level of detail she needs for full credit.   swamp poop

From what I vaguely recall from the advanced db classes I took (and barely passed), is that in the real world, people get really, really pissy when you fuck around with their databases and lose stuff. :)

Judging from the few anecdotes one of the professors who actually did real world stuff dropped, especially when it comes to banks and financial institutions, that insane level of detail and paperwork is not as uncommon as you might think. Apparently while rockets and stuff can run on "Trust me, it works, I ran the test cases", money doesn't take breezy assurances and wants reams of proof and paperwork that can be checked by a third party.

Why do people feel the need to comment on someone's posture?

random person at work: "If you sit like that you're going to get stuck that way"

internal dialog: "Ohh, you mean worse than the fucking disease I had surgery for managed?"
me: "Oh. Yep. I have back issues." *straightens up*

Day ruined.  Bring on Tuesday.

It's just another form of proselytizing. Maybe they've changed their posture recently and reaped some benefits and now they have to spread the word.

Sadly, that's probably exactly right.

Recently I was in the hospital for tests and at least three nurses commented on my positioning saying "That can't possibly be comfortable." I'm pretty sure I know what's comfortable for MY back thanks, and I'm pretty sure I would've had similar sarcasm if someone where I work said something about posture too. Don't let it bother you Rasix, and sit how it's comfortable for you.

I know, I know.  You're absolutely correct.  The assignments generally have a listing of how many hours they should take, so this one was listed at three hours total is expected.  But the level of detail she requires for full credit is well beyond a three hour job, putting it in the range of five hours.  From a cost/benefit analysis, I'll gladly exchange those three points out of 50 to have an extra few hours in my weekend.

In the real world, sure.  I'll go the extra mile.

News reports aren't quite accurate yet, but Zynga has shut down 4 offices (AQC/Austin, Dallas, LA, New York) and more are coming.

I gave it a 3 year life span. This is the only time they've ever exceeded my expectations.

Hopefully he's paying that out of the hundreds of millions he siphoned out of the company from insider trading.

My guess is he's not.
