Goddamn, our admin is making me nuts. She just spent over 15 mins having a discussion with some guy about a fucking card for someone's retirement. As in, which card they should use (hers or his) and how to route it and oh she's already sent out email invites for the retirement party and why yes, she did include this one person and will add these other names.
I really do need to take a pic of her desk area to properly convey the mess it is.
Oh gods, he's back with his card ("it's kind of small, but people can sign on the back") and hers ("it's kind of generic") and ARGH!
My tolerance factor for her is just way too short lately. She's light years beyond the previous admin (never quite realized just how incompetent previous admin was until we got someone in here who can really admin) but she's always going on about how much work she has while chitchatting galore and racking up the overtime. It could also be the noise factor coming over the cube walls, too.

Nothing like learning that the place you have been working as a temp for two months wanted to hire you but was not allowed to because you "didn't apply" even though the posting was closed two days before you started.
So much for the university's line that their temp service's goal is to get people hired on permanently. This is now two jobs in a row that I have been fucked out of being able to even interview for because of some bullshit civil service technicality.
