To be fair, that's been going on for a long time.
In related news, I'm trying to start up a LLC.
Well, you know a local CPA, so you got that going for you if you go that way.

If the All-Employee Broadcast is coming from Singapore, and is at 0800 Singapore time, is this a Bad Sign?
Probably, but the way you put it, you gave me a laugh at what is potentially shitty news.

YAY! Just got the new work computer and monitor set up, so now I get to relog into all my websites. Oh joy for remembering all my passwords. But hey, I've got a 22" widescreen monitor now, so I'm not complaining.

I just did that myself. Still need a connector for my second monitor, and yeah passwords, not fun!

There aren't many reasons to not try my hand at this being unemployed at all. Playing Ascension certainly isn't going to pay the bills.

I've kind of tried the second monitor thing at home and it just seems too weird trying to move from one screen to the other. Some people here have 2 monitors set up and love it, but I went with the widescreen version instead. Tech who came to set things up though maximized my Notes and IE windows though. Seriously? It's bad enough I have to use both programs but please don't make me look at them in full screen.

The key to multiple monitors is setting them up correctly so that they're spatially reasonable. I love multiple monitors, but due to the software I use I have to do multiple computers- Mac and Windows.

You have to be a good player, or a very good trader/bargainer. A Grand Prix is a premier Professional level event, with decent prize support, and literally thousands of MTG nerds making poor trades or purchases left and right. Schild has 3 byes for the main event, which helps get you into the money rounds.

If I didn't win the GPT, I wasn't even going to attempt to grind into byes at the main event. I was ONLY going to trade with idiots for 72 hours. I've got to do something with this stupid Zodiac Dragon I picked up on Saturday.

I have a 4 monitor ghetto setup (2 x 20" 16:9 + 2 x 19" 5:4) going at work but that is mostly due to them being unable to provide me with 1 decent monitor. I'd happily go back to 2 if 1 of them was 23" or better. Wish I could type better and make the leap to a less cluttered IDE like vim.

It's awesome for sure in Manhattan style clam chowder. Not sure how well it'd work in New England style...
(note to self : get clam chowder fixings at grocery store this week)

So...I hit a raccoon with the car on the way to my 4-year-old's swim practice tonight. I feel bad. But I got one positive out of it.

Well, sure, honey, but the bitches need to sell me books and training. Is what I didn't say.

You could also have gotten dinner out of it, if you were the more adventurous environmentalist sort. And a coonskin cap!

The death of the cabinet game has made D&B suck quite a lot compared to just going to a pool hall.
Now someone's going to tell me the cabinet game isn't dead and that having 100 different versions of Time Crisis, Operation Wolf and Deer Hunter along with that stupid rafting game and the barely-functioning Star Wars Trilogy cabinet is the zenith of communal gaming.

There wasn't one at my D&B when I went a year ago but there's one in every other bar in the city. I honestly don't understand that one at all. Gameworks, I can't remember one way or the other. It used to be a fun place but that was 8-9 years ago. The culture and environ has really shifted since then as more and more games have been replaced by gimmicks or simply not updated because nobody in the US makes the things anymore. Oh.. I forgot the ONE DDR game and it's 3 ripoffs that replaced teh Mechwarrior booths.

Beaten by Arkham Horror. Lack of planning and worse rolls in the fight against Cthulu. I don't get how I managed to roll so many misses and I was chucking 10-13 dice at times.

I planned on buying a Golden Tee cab if I'd stayed at my job and gotten a condo instead of moving into an apartment that would require my Taito Egret II be put into storage. Oh well.
Next time.

Today was the IT day from hell. To make up for it I was given a bottle of the finest mead I've ever had. I've been home less than five minutes and I'm half-way to a buzz.
