Well, this is certainly getting political fast  why so serious?.

Once the links start flying I think we're heading to the cesspit.

Yeah, facts are political.  swamp poop

I don't have a problem with that, this just isn't the right spot to be that serious.  That's for the politics forum, and frankly I just don't have the patience for all the serious-ness.  I get enough of that at work.   awesome, for real

So that's "Former workmate" then, eh?

No, after he died of embarrassment a few times, she told him she was flattered. Definitely needs pics, I know.

Edit: Also, she's married (not to him).

It seems far less violent than when I was growing up in the 60s/70s in southern California, when the news was full of mass murders (mostly in California).  From the Tate/Manson murders to the "Santa Cruz Murder Capital of the World" (3 serial killers in 3 years for a small town) to the Zodiac to Randy Kraft (one of 3 Freeway Killers), it seemed bodies were constantly turning up.

There was, I think, much less focus specifically on pedos though.  How could it be otherwise with so many serial killers?  At any rate, it was very scary for me as a kid to be aware of all this (and one could not help but be aware of it).

Even so, we rode our bikes and walked all over town, and had a great deal of freedom, compared to my kids (who have a mother with neurotic fears of boogeymen around every corner).

That's really not how I expected that story to end.  In related news, flattered or not, if I'd been the boss and clocked that, he'd have been on a formal.  You can't muck about with that shit these days or you end up in the Sand.

In other news, the husband has decided to try out Weight Watchers online for himself to see about losing weight.  He's recently run into a few other men he knows who've lost large amounts of weight (and one guy he could barely recognize, he'd changed so much) and it's gotten him into the "I can do this too" mindset, which I'm all for.  I've lost about 15 pounds myself just from the surgery, so trying to keep it up would be a good thing, IMO.  If he's on the let's eat better bandwagon, I'm really hoping it goes well for us.

If he's after more inspiration I'd actually really recommend looking in to the Watch and Woot forum on Something Awful, the Ultimate Transformations thread there (and some of the logs people have put up) have some really amazing physical transformations, people who have lost 3 or 400lbs and gotten into shape. Silly as it can sound it helps to have a look through it and just see people in worse conditions than you and have gotten themselves looking good. Uziel there is one of the great successes but there's a few more who have probably started out a lot bigger than you or your husband and gotten fit, few of them will say there's one definite way to do it.

I'd be more worried about family members and friends than some random dude on the street. Since that's where most molestation happens.

That also is not the usual end to that story.

What's the pool on him getting drunk at the office night out, mistaking the situation in the way you just did and then making an absolute fucking cunt of himself propositioning sex in a loud voice beside the MD.

Because in my experience, this is what happens.

I think that would be a pretty clear case where females with good tits are causing a toxic work environment. The solution is simple, fire her and get someone that'll put out.

There's a couple of interesting things I've read in the past couple of days linking even light drinking to gastroesophageal and breast cancers.  I'm thinking pretty seriously about giving up drinking altogether, although I certainly don't party like I did when I was in college any more.   awesome, for real

I've been almost dry for years now. At parties I drink alcohol but I'll have one or two and make them last, when I'm out for a meal or at a bar however I mostly drink apple juice or tea. At home I drink nothing but tea.

Yeah, I only drink at holidays and special events these days, I might have one or two beers a month otherwise. I do tend to drink too much with my parents (they just keep opening bottles of wine...) otherwise I almost never get actually drunk anymore.

Until last week I hadn't had a drink in a year.  Wife and son were out of town and some friends at work wanted to take me out.  Wasn't worth it.  I have GERD and a very low alcohol tolerance, so it's not much fun for me.  Even moderate drinking leaves me feeling pretty awful.

Before this year hiatus, it was maybe light drinking a handful of times a year since getting my first college degree.  Glass of wine or martini with a nice dinner (doesn't happen very much) or a margarita with Mexican food.  Beer watching the Super Bowl, champagne at New Years, etc.

I just don't feel like spending money on something that just mostly makes me feel awful.  I'd rather have a diet Coke or an iced tea.

I'll have a beer once in a while and I've only ever drunk to the black-out point once in my life.  I've been near that line where you realize you're drunk and are still sober enough to be concerned about it a dozen times total.   Other than that.. nah.

On the other hand, you're reading too much.  A serving a day is still good for the heart.  Concerns over cancer cause cancer.

I gave it up completely in May of 2010. Haven't missed it except for tailgates, and that's only because you come to realize that they are incredibly boring without booze.

My alcohol intake is mostly restricted to soccer/football/hockey games now, with the occasional weekend visiting my brother (he is a terrible influence on me!). Shockingly my hangovers haven't been nearly as severe recently. I attribute that to the fact that I don't drink as hard as I can right up until last call and then go home and pass the hell out anymore. Now I slow down/stop drinking by midnight at the latest, and usually get some food in me at some point.

When you've never been a heavy drinker, you realize this applies to many, many, MANY popular activities and social situations.   When I comment as such I usually get a lot of "Yeah it is boring."   When I then follow-up and ask why do them in the first place, the answer always seems to come around to: "for the drinking!"

Yeah, I went two years of dental school without having any alcohol.  I agree with the sentiment that many things, particularly tailgating, are fairly tedious when you are t also drunk.  A lot of that comes from having to deal with the drunk people, more than the activity itself.  I think I'm going to avoid it for a while and see what happens.

And I understand what you are trying to say, Merusk, but there is a history of GI cancer in my family so that's one more thing I can do to help out.

I drink regularly (3-4 times a week?) but I don't drink much.  In the last 15 years, I've been drunk a couple of times.  But I enjoy beer and wine as part of my dinner.  If it gives me cancer, oh well.  Gotta die of something.

Beats taking Valium or smoking pot, for me, anyhow, and it makes other people very much more interesting (not to mention myself!).

I've had all of 3 drinks in the last 9 years.  Before that I think I had a handful of light drinking episodes once I turned 21, but for the most part I've been completely sober and alcohol free for like 98% of my life.  I don't miss it at all.  I do relate to the "this shit is boring" feelings regarding most activities that involve drinking and being around drunk people.  Hence why I'm the loser no one invites out ;-)

I was at a bar last week being the good designated driver for my friend and some girl who has had quite a bit to drink starts talking to me and starts getting visibly upset when I don't remember her name.  I wasn't even introduced that night much less remember her from the time I was supposedly introduced 10 months ago.  My point of "we haven't even been introduced tonight or had ANY conversation EVER and you're upset with me over this?" was completely ignored and passed over like it wasn't even logical.  I also used to DD for my ex and her friends and I'll just say that being in a lesbian or gay bar at 2:15AM ferrying drunk and horny people going home alone is not a pleasant experience nor is it something I care to do anymore.

I'm on medication for some conditions that pretty much require me to stay off drinking to keep my liver happy and my doctor is amazed that I had no problem with it.  It sure is easy to be a teetotaler despite the societal pressures for me!

I used to get into all kinds of crazy drinking episodes with my friends. There was a shocking wake-up call when I stopped, because two friends I used to hang out with I decided were overall less fun to be around sober, and one friend who I used to think was boring is now the one I hang around most of the time.

Go figure how your priorities shift.

I drink only a few times a year.  Usually special occasions or when I'm getting together with friends at a party.

Also the entire holiday season.  (It only counts as once if I never stop, right?)

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!
