Let's trade jobs and see how long until our bosses/clients notice.
Do we get to trade paychecks, too? As long as we also trade wives. Mine is financially demanding. I'm up for it. She'll kill me inside a week and you'll never want to go home because I've got mine in-line on that finally. Win/win! (?)

Isn't 74 when the emission standards were put into place? When I was still rebuilding engines, the rule of thumb was to avoid anything made in the US between 1974 and 1980.
Each manufacturer had some slight variances, but the general history was: 1960's: Air Injection Reaction, mechanical spark control, vapor controls come out over the years in various form; installation and requirements are spotty depending on where you live & car line. 1971: unleaded fuel comes out, low compression across the boards minus special "high output cars" 1973: EGR on most lines, compression ratios drop again 1975: catalytic converters now mandatory as is unleaded gas for everything new from here on out 1979-1980: Computer controlled catalytic converter installed on some car lines, electronic spark control en vogue 1981: computer control mandatory across almost all car lines, leaded gas becomes much much harder to find (and is mostly all gone from your average station by 1990) Trucks got away with things a little while longer, trailing 2-5 years in some cases depending on chassis size. So basically if you're building an engine, anything non-computer controlled from 1980 or earlier is a good idea to start with (vintage EEPROM that pulsed 10 times a minute to adjust timing for that EXACT engine is a PAIN). Engines even with EGR likely can be replaced with non-EGR intake and *most* smog controls removed depending on the laws of your state\county. 1971-1978 are essentially good years as they will run on 87 without too much effort, but if you're building a high performance engine and are willing to live with tuning for detonation or hunting for 100+ octane, then the 1960's stuff is where it's at. But a lot of this is rendered moot by the vendors of today and their new head designs for various engine families, just drop $1500-2500 and get a new set of heads.

How about a muscle car? 1974 Chevy Nova with a 350 in it?
Seeing a '74 Nova called a "muscle car" just made me die a little inside. A Chevy Nova was a muscle car much in the same way that a Chevy Cavalier is a sports car. My mom drove a '73 Nova with a 350 in it. Most of the muscle car clubs consider it a muscle car. They are usually referring to the '72 or earlier SS versions though.

You aren't on the forum even if you stay logged in. Where do people get this idea from?
I never log out of any forums I use but you don't see me showing as being active all the time, do you? Once you leave the page, you're gone. The forum shows you as inactive and after a bit, you'll drop off the activity list/users online. Owh it works that way? o_O I thought I'm always in the forum after closing the browser but not logging out, since the forum doesn't ask me to log in when I came back. D: K thanks. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've run into this.

You can get some juice out of those small blocks, and those cars are pretty light. So for street racing and stock class drags.. yah, I think so.

That might depend how you define "High Speed."
Fios? No, and Ched indicated we'd never ever get it. DSL & Cable up to 50Mbps, yes.

I'm eagerly awaiting the fallout from Yego's and Merusk's conversations with their wives.
"Uh, honey? Yeah, see, I made this deal with someone I know on the internet, and we're going to trade lives for a little while. Depending on how things work out, maybe for a long time. And see, that includes trading wives, so I'm going to need you to help pack my things up and then get ready for the new master of the house to move in. Any questions?"

What could they possibly object too? I thought men were pretty much interchangeable, like say appliances. The features may be a little different, sure.

Ha! I know you don't know my wife, but: Ha! It would be me that would want to go back most, I would guess (unless Merusk decided he had spent enough time around my wife early on). Event though I only have 12GB download speed. The more I think about it, the more I want to trade with Nebu instead. Although who doesn't want to be an architect?

Certainly would be interesting. I think I'd miss my life though. While I make shit for money, I do have a very flexible schedule. When do we make the trade?

I'll have to ask the wife. There are more important things in life than money. Especially if you can't enjoy it like you want to.

I start the Osmoprep this afternoon for tomorrow's and Tuesday's procedures. Should be a fun afternoon based on all the warnings and advice I was given. If I happen to lose some weight I will let you know.

If I happen to lose some weight I will let you know. Depending on your diet and current weight, I'll bet that you lose somewhere around 3-5 lbs in undigested material. I hope all goes well and you get a clean bill of health.

Somewhere (in this thread or another) someone made it sound like that undigested material is stuff that stays inside you a very long time, not just "normal" stuff on the (de-)assembly line of your digestive system. Please tell me I misunderstood that.

That was me.
The risk of colon cancer is often enhanced by the presence of a black, tar-like material that collects in the colon over years. This material is the byproduct of a diet rich in difficult to digest material coupled to low fiber. One way to observe this is to go on a high fiber, low solid diet for a few days. By about day three of liquids and psylium husk, you'll start to excrete pretty significant amounts of this material, much of which is quite rich in free radical species. Many studies have shown that men with diets high in meat protein and low in dietary fiber demonstrate an elevated risk for colon cancer due to these and other factors.

I'm saying that cleansing diets clean shit out of your colon in the short term. You can accomplish the same thing (in a much more effective manner) by just eating a balanced diet with a reasonable amount of fiber in it. The word "works" scares me. They produce an effect, albeit a short-term one.

So you're saying cleansing diets will cleanse you in awful, horrible ways that will make you wish you'd never begun, but any long-term health benefit is debatable AT BEST.

Cleansing diets will clean undigested stuff out of your colon. The better solution is to have a healthy diet and get regular exercise. I think that they can produce a long-term benefit in some people (if done regularly), but it would be a VERY difficult thing to quantify.

It takes days of liquids and high fiber to bear this out. You either needed more time or have a very healthy colon. I'll hope for the later.
