Wow, nice performance from Morton.  I'm really not sure why Green doesn't look his way more and I'm not just saying this as a biased ff owner.  He really outplayed Chris McCalister all night.

Next week v. Haem should be an interesting matchup considering he'll have Foster instead of Rudi.  Although really, Rudi has better long term fantasy value as Foster is benchmeat once Davis is healthy (if he ever gets healthy).  I'd look for a close game with both teams above 100.  Of course, solid WR play for him could spell the difference although I'd argue he's got tougher matchups.

Week after I catch a Rooster's team with Jamal and others on a bye but Peyton will also be sitting out.. uggggg.

Interesting season so far.  This week the two undefeateds get to do battle.  Edge goes to the Koalas who due to murdoc getting killed by the Chiefs and Eagles on a bye.

I don't think Foster will be as bad a choice as you think. I really believe Davis will be a bust this year, mainly due to nagging injuries. When he's out, Foster is gold. Plus, I still have Staley, who has been a pretty consistent runner; he's just not scoring TD's.

Rudi Johnson has been a huge disappointment to me.

Well, my team just got jacked up by The Man, they suspended my stud for the Oct 24th & 31st games.  I wonder if I'll ever get to see Lewis & Davis making sweet, sweet love for me again.

Goddamn it Haemish! Why damn must you always play me when I have my top players on bye? This week it was Priest Holmes and Owens in the old Corp league.

I hope I get a chance to hand you your ass in the playoffs somewhere!

I need Javon Walker not to have a massive night and I win again!  I have no faith in McNair actually using Ben Troupe despite the guy being their only healthy tightend and being some people's top ranked TE in the draft.

Having a winning record with the goons I have will actually bring a smile to my face.  Ohh and.. tough break with Foster, Haem.

I have been owned in both Corp leagues this week by the dreaded QB/WR combo.....2 matches in 2 leagues decided by 2 combos from 1 game.

In Corpnews 1, I ran smack into the combo of David Carr and Andre Johnson. I normally wouldn't even sneeze at this one, but after Sunday's shootout, the completions, receptions, yardage, and TDs gave my opponent a whopping 80+ points.

In Corpnews 2, I went up against the starting combo of Culpepper and Moss, which between TDs and yardage, gave my opponent a whopping 56 points.

It wasn't too long ago that I was lit up by someone that had both McNabb and Owens. I need to rethink my fantasy strategy next year.

When your 4 best WRs consist of Peerless Price, Hines Ward, Derrick Mason, and Anquan Boldin (Week 8 can't get here soon enough), getting the QB/WR combo just doesn't seem all that appealing.

Bring the noise.

Other than his immediate family, I can't imagine who might have him rated as the best TE. Maybe as a sleeper, but I can think of 5 or 6 guys off the top of my head that are no brainer picks before him. After them, it is pretty much a crapshoot.

Walker is going to have a big night, I think. Hell, he really only needs about 4 or 5 receptions, 90-100 yards and a TD for me to win. Troupe won't get shit /crosses fingers/.

I'm much more on the cusp of losing games or barely winning games this week. Most of the "sure things" I thought this week would have didn't pan out. Tampa Bay won (Saints REALLY REALLY SUCK), the Giants fucking won (and damnit, I had Tiki Barber on the fucking bench in Corp 2), Tom Brady only completed 7 damn passes but at least 2 were TD's.

Funny thing is if Javon Walker has a good night, I probably win in the f13 league, but lose in the Corp 1 league. Shit.

I think he meant the 2004 NFL draft...not the fantasy draft. I don't think he was the best TE there either. He's not as good as KW2, but I'd rather have Troupe on my team than Winslow any day of the week.

You can thank the injury prone McNair for Carr being my starter this week.  Although A. Johnson burned my team in the Morlock league this week too.

Eh, I followed the draft pretty heavily.  For most of the pre-draft it was neck and neck who was a better choice between him and Winslow, but who the hell would draft the no name pudge rather than the charismatic, fibula-of-steel Winslow.  Troupe's stock seemed to slip at the end, to the point where I think he was the 3rd TE drafted overall.  (Of course, I could be thinking of Ben Watson, but I'm pretty sure I remember it being Troupe from Florida)  Funny how no real rookie TE this year has stood out, but a lot of premier TEs have emerged (YET NONE I OWNED).

Anyhow, on another tanget, I was thinking of writing up a little weekly recap after Monday night.  Might be fun to break down what happened and what could have been.

Ok, that makes more sense if you are talking about the rookie draft (as opposed to the fantasy draft). I think Winslow gets the nod for his pedigree, but just a slight one.

IIRC, Winslow went #6 to Cleveland (They traded up with Detroit for the #7 and a 2nd rounder...which were used on Roy Williams and Teddy Lehman, respectively. Smooth move Cleveland!), Watson went #32 to New England, and Troupe went something like #35 to the Titans.

So far, Winslow and Watson have had some significant injury troubles, and The Titans passing game just hasn't been very productive at all.

Well, 2-2 in leagues this week. What a fucking shitty week for football.

Let me just say this now. I hate you, Mike Sherman. I blame every single Packers loss this season squarely on your head. This team has the potential to be a contender every year, and yet you have somehow managed to take this storied franchise and turn them into a team that just scrapes by. You do not have any fucking concept of how to recruit a good defense. You just don't. The linebackers are decent, KGB and Darren Sharper are both excellent players. Your corners are fucking tools. Your linemen... tools. And useless tools at that. What's the problem? It isn't like these defensive problems haven't been building for years. Grady Jackson was a great pickup, but where's the depth? None. Nada, zip. McKenzie is gone, and the rookies you have behind them look like they don't even know what they are supposed to do on a football field. Without KGB, you have no pass rush, and without Jackson, you can't stuff the run. I saw 8 men in the box last night, and every one of them either got blocked out or juked out of their shorts. Are you so obessed with offense that you've just neglected the D altogether, a la Steve Spurrier?

That game last night was fucking painful to watch. Ahman Green can't get more than 3 yards in the first half? Shit, he could barely make it to the line of scrimmage. The Pack couldn't tackle ANYBODY. If the Pack don't make the playoffs or worse, don't have a winning record, Sherman should be gone. He has no one to blame but himself, IMO. The problem last year wasn't the D coordinator as much as it was the D. Fucking prick.

Also, move Javon Walker up in the depth chart past Robert Ferguson AND Donald Driver. It's obvious he should be the go-to guy.

I've never seen Lambeau so empty on TV before the game was even OVER. Sherman should be lynched because of the way the defense played. One person on your team makes a bad error, and that's not the coaches fault. One of the lower teir teams in the league setting records for points against you in your own house? That's a coaching issue.

The Pack needs to dig up Lombardi and parade him around on strings.

Well, could have been 3rd, but instead I get be 8th!  HOORAY FOR GARBAGE TIME.  Oh well, at least I lost by a solid 10.  Javon Walker is a fucking talent (except that he can't play defense on errant Favre passes worth a damn).   Still, if I would have made decent decisions on my replacement kicker (I had Brien penciled in before I decided on Mare, BRAIN FART), hadn't believed the crap about Meier actually not going to start, and hadn't misplaced my faith in McNair knowing how to throw to a TE that's not Erron Kinney at the 1 yard line, I could have won.  Eating 2 zeros is just bad for business.

Ahh well, next week.

Glad to see you picked up Mare. I unloaded him because his team was scoring touchdowns and he was doing shit for me scoring. I picked up the Brownies kicker. He produces some decent points every week as long as his team keeps choking in the red zone.

Akers was on a bye.  Seriously though, I just made a boneheaded decision.  You don't pick up a kicker on a team as bad as Miami even with field goals being the pinnacle of their offensive achievement and expect bad things not to happen.  The douche got hurt during warmups..

I had the Brien all the way to clicking the final "add this player" button and for some reason jumped to Mare.  STUPID STUPID STUPID.  Well, at least I've got Akers until the end of the year.

Yah, but you're starting what counts for the big points this year: QB and your starting WR's. I'll be missing Peyton.  I'll miss him like a leg.

If I could arrange it, I'd draft players that all had a bye on the same week.  That way I could just count on losing one game really badly and not the ticky-tack losses each week.   I'll be looking heavily into getting Peyton/Marvin, Donovan/Terrel or Dante/Randy next year.

In one of my leagues, I think Corp2, I have Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Edgerrin James, not to mention Larry Fitzgerald and Emmet Smith. Lo and behold, Arizona and the Colts have the same bye week.

Finally, a MNF game that I don't have to cringe while watching.  Rattay put together a decent game in relief of my stud, Manning.  Solid RB play again and yet another touchdown from Keyshawn.  My team doesn't total suck sometimes.  Players on a bye hurt the Roosters some. He got a nice performance out of Leftwich though.

Couple of games to be decided by tonight's game.  As long as the St. Louis WRs don't stink up the house, we'll have 2 0-6 teams and the Koalas need a big game out of Bulger in order to remain undefeated.

Haem needs a big game out of KEN DILGER.  Good luck on that one.

Yeah, I needed TO to catch a TD or two.  Watching the steelers drop 2 interceptions, one that would have been a TD, in the last few minutes of their game was not pleasant for me.  However, my lack of depth bit me in the ass, since I had to start Davis vs the Eagles and actually used two Raiders.

My Raider did OK. It's sad when that's been some of my best TE production of the year.

I was worried early on when I checked Morton's numbers.  I just didn't think the Jags would give him all of those grabs, especially when Kennison back.

Neither did I with the way he's played this year.  Guy racks up 1500 yards/year and I don't think he's had a hundred yard game yet. But lately he's been getting some decent yards through the air.

Still, I had higher hopes from him.  But, hey, 22 points, good job buddy.

I knocked off two undefeated teams this week in the corpnews leagues.

In Corpnews 1, Holt's 2 TD performance was enough to cement a win vs the Vince Van Pattens. Garcia finally put together a decent week, and I won despite starting the killer RB combo of Quentin Griffin (I didn't get the memo) and The Bus.

In Corpnews 2, I knocked off Slog, after Faulk and Bulger came through...although I must admit that Bulger's 1 fumble, 1 INT performance kept in doubt until about 11:30pm.

The Lions screwed the pooch against the Pack, but all the playmakers were hurt (5yds from Jones, no Williams). Apparently God wants us to win with Az Hakim as our top WR. GB had something to prove, so I had a nasty feeling it could get away from us. Fans here are reacting as if we are 0-5, but after going 3-1 I think most forgot the predictions of 8-8, and started thinking playoffs.

Bring the noise.
