  Don't laugh...  I was an OTR driver for many years, and I was told this was common when there is only large hearing loss in the left ear.  Basically I always had the window down :(  When driving for years in this way at highway speeds, it causes hearing loss, due to the sound of the wind.

There were also times when I didn't wear them, but somehow managed to avoid the tragic hearing loss. 
 Then again, it is entirely possible that you have just been in an absolute fuckton of live combat situations.

Based on what you have said I imagine you probably did 4 years and got out? I was in for 15+ starting back in 1989 with Operation Just Cause. I'd been in 2nd Ranger Bat for all of 1 week when we got deployed that December to Panama.

I'd love to add to this secret-problems pity fest, but I'm in ok shape overall. I have a couple cavities that I need to do something about and I've been putting off getting one of my wisdom teeth pulled for about 10 years - not a huge deal.
