Ok, obviously there's a new frontpage. A frontpage with more writers, more news and more... more. We're still working on some peripheral stuff (like galleries for E3 - among other things). We're also working on some integration with the forums and the frontpage.

Other things... Yoru and Trippy are now staffed up. Also, Samwise is going to be handling the backend and coding stuffs. Yegolev and I are working on some super sekrit projects. Also, Ookii is back on staff - he's much more efficient now that I know where he lives. Which is in f13.house here in lovely Chandler (he's one of the flatmates). I think there's some other people I'm forgetting but uhm, it's 4AM. If I forgot you, I don't love you less, I just haven't talked to you in the last 24 hours. You'll still get the f13.christmascard, I promise. Just to make things clear though - Yoru, Trippy, Yegolev, Ookii and Samwise are not moderators, despite what it says under their name. Well, Samwise might PLAY moderator from time to time, but that's up to him.  wink One last thing, I'd like to point out that on Yegolev's profile I got advertisements for Rachel Ray's cookbook. Awesome.

To sum things up: New staff, new frontpage, new fantastic colorful picture crazy drunken content from E3.

Ah, also, there's nothing under About Us on the top menu. That'll get done as soon as I can find the words.

FINALLY, the forums are going to get tweaked. There will be seperate forums for Reviews and Commentary. They will be under an f13.net Official Forums header and will not be subforums of anything. That'll get done with I have time to start pruning WDWD (which will disappear afterwards). That'll probably happen Sunday.

Below here is where you'll post about the frontpage. Likes, dislikes, pet peeves, turn-ons, fetishes, etc.

I don't like it especially. I don't dislike it, either. It just has a 'me too' bloggeresque look to it. I liked the distinctiveness of the the old. Is the 1/3 of page real estate being ignored on the sides going to be for ads? I am not trying to be snarky.

Go back to black...that huge amount of bright white real estate is just too much late at night or early in the morning.

It is true, I am Rachael Ray.  I snagged him by covering my naked body in E-V-O-O and rolling around in a bed of PSPs.

Racheal Ray has been eclipsed by Giada de Larenti on a level of idealism I still can't quite comprehend.

Giada has the biggest head since the younger brother in So I Married An Axe Murderer. It truly is like an orange on a toothpick! Plus her crazed clown smile creeps me out. If you added her chest to Rachael Ray it would be much better.

Man, I question you.  I question you hard.  If you want to split hairs, then Racheal Ray is a flat chested, tomboyish retard.  I mean, how many times can you listen to her say EVOO before you want to stab her in the mouth?

But all seriousness aside, Giada is the only thing left I hold sacred in this world.  She's sacrosanct.  Don't defile her with your cockamamy insults.

At 1024x768 only 30 pixels of grey show up on either side. Considering the majority of the internet still browses at that size, you have to think in those terms. Just like 85% of the internet uses IE, so it was more important to make everything work in IE6 than Firefox. Also, when we had a wider frontpage with smaller text, articles that were three pages and longer in Word or whatever would be less than a page. It was aggravating. People had to write insanely long articles and even then they seemed short. Also, text blocks were simlply way too big. It was hard to read.

For some reason the front page is now blocked by the firewall at work.  Nice.  Did you put some Suicide Girls ads up or something?

Oh, and Giada looks like a classic case of Fetal Alcohol Syndome.

I like everything but the font used for the Forums-News-Reviews section.  Maybe the f13 logo should be larger too, it doesn't really identify itself right now.

I thought at first I mistyped f13.net and came to one of those domain squatter sites.  After a brief moment of confusion, I saw the banner at the top and thought I had come to an ad site for the new Final Fantasy or something.  Then I finally realized it was just iF13.net I had come to.

But, the main page needed a new layout badly, and this new one presents articles in a way that is actually easy to keep track of.  (Although it would be nice if you could set the google ads further off to the side in its own block of color so that it doesn't meld with the article text)

The new frontpage is much better in that it is more like a real website.  Errr, I mean a commercial, not real.

2 thumbs up.  And fuck Samwise (since, you know, he is not a mod; thus I may cuss at him!)

I like the fact that I no longer have to scroll down and squint at small blocks of text in order to see what new articles have been posted. Most of the time I found out something new was posted by seeing its commentary thread here.

Also, I'm going to train you all to look at the damn frontpage by Not Putting Links In the Forums. Well, commentary and reviews will get links - of course - but news won't for the time being. We're working on a plugin to automatically post on both and link back to eachother, but at this moment it's simply not ready. And for the sake of not creating a clusterfuck when the plugin is finally done, we're simply not crossposting everything.

There's a frontpage?

Come on, it has to be said.

Looks good. I read it and with actual new content I'll keep reading it - I might look very bloglike, but it's an improvement and easier to read. And thank God you got rid of the moneybegging adverts to the right.

Writing articles to look a certain way is a not a good way to judge content. No one worth writing for cares how many times one has to scroll down while reading. Having to scroll to continue reading is discontinuous in my book.

I waited a few days to comment, but I agree with Strazos.  Black is more distinctive, more f13.

I'm so proud of myself.

I was going to come in here and violently protest the lack of links to appropriate threads in the articles.  Instead, I decided to see if it had been mentioned.  Voila, here she is.

I feel like someone who uses the search function before posting a new thread, to make sure it's not a repost.

I feel like a winner.
