Linksys, Dlink, Motorola, Cisco, Vtech, etc. -- Someone made a "VoIP chip" and all of the products carry it. I personally think the Vphone is the coolest. It's the only one that I'd consider using personally, as I have no landline - I use my cell phone for all voice communication.

I know a few people like that (cell phones as main communication). I hang up on them after telling them to call me from a landline. I don't want to try and decipher their verbal morse code.

Although it does have some cool features, primarily being that if you have a vonage ip phone you can set the Vphone to the same number while you're travelling so anyone calling your home phone gets either the Vphone or voicemail. Kind of cool. But I've heard mixed reviews on Vonage's service. That said I have an ip phone from a local provider and I'm happy with it. With my home ip phone and my cell I've managed to completely divorce myself from the local monopoly telco who sucks major ass. |

On one hand, yeah, it's a very stupid commercial.
But on the other hand, the reality is that we have a rapidly aging population. Catering to that older demographic is a pretty smart bet. Stuff like franchises in the nursing home and funerary fields are starting to take off now. Yeah, it's pretty slimy, but the money is there to be made.
