Being a bit frustrated with my current work environment I requested taking 3 months of leave from my job. They approved.

Anyways - plan on making a trip to NY and Washington DC with the family in late June/ Early July Figured seeing the fireworks in DC on the 4th would be cool). So - any good/cheap hotels in NY to stay at? Also looking for restaurant recommendations while I am there.

If you had a job, you wouldn't need to stay in a cheap hotel.

I can't really argue with this.

Maybe you and Righ could put him up! He could take the train to DC or to NYC. It is flawless!

Accept Righ is boycotting F13 and Signe will forget to tell him.

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

You can't use a fake grammar snake... there can be only one.  Except no substitutes.

I'm at college in DC currently, so if you need restaurant/whatever else advice I can probably provide.  Most importantly, here's hoping the 3 months of R&R do you good.

It's a trap!

Don't come anywhere near Phoenix after May. Your face will melt off and you will be struck by lightning.

Shouldn't that quote be accompanied by a picture of the good Admiral?

In NY go to Stingy Lulu's. It's an old-time diner except all the waitresses are drag queens. Oznot's Kitchen in Brooklyn has amazing brekkie fare. And PLEASE try Les Halles for me. I'm Tony Bourdain's bitch.

In DC go to Cafe Lautrec - all cocktails are coffee drinks and there's a live jazz band and an old black dude who tap dances on the bar. It's awesome. I had the Cafe Dali - coffee with creme de cacao and Grand Marnier, and a dollop of whooped cream. Toe-curling drinkgasm.

Voodoo & Sauce - a blog.
The Legend of Zephyr - a different blog.
