I was playing the game tongiht and got an odd message just before the servers went down, with a message  You have been hacked. city.xpt.net

Has a game of this scale ever been compromised like this?

The link points to a free forum website which is now down or stressed... but managed to get out of this before it down.  It looks like a honest to goodness server hack.

Edit: It happened again, got a screencap this time.

Red bleeds in low quality jpgs. Especially bold red. Sharp red lines are one of the single best reasons to game in hi-def on the 360. Neon lights in the Tokyo stuff on PGR and PDZ actually look right.

Ah, you learn something every day on this boards.

But why in the name of your favourite deity are you awake ?

Shouldn't it be something around 3:00 am over there ?

Edit: Spellcheck does not help if you type the wrong word.

F13.net is a labor of something. Definately not a labor of cash flow.

Well, there was the time someone got hold of a daoc admin account and decided it would be funny to spawn Legion and hib_dragon in emain. (actually that *was* funny, arguably one of the better events ever staged in daoc in fact)

This one time, as a party trick, Mark Jacobs met and proceeded to eat every single attendee at one of those fanfaire type events. Goddamn was it a site to behold. He picked his teeth with a freshly sharped femur removed from a 13 year old catholic schoolgirl. It was, by far, the best event outsi.... Ohhhhhh IN DAoC. I don't remember any.

Word is that he was only able to hijack the Admin channel and the server on/off switch, along with some other minor things.

Still the biggest hack I've seen in a MMOG, to be sure.  Glad I decided to watch the Nip // Tuck season finale last night with my girlfriend instead of playing CoV.
