Since I have no opinion on the original post:

Napoleon Dynamite was...

I didn't get it.  But my girlfriend thought it was hilarious.  She loved it, and she's not stupid.  But it was still extremely overrated.

In closing, I agree with Roger Ebert.  Again.

I just thought the whole Rex Kwan Do thing was pretty funny. And the dance at the end. Besides that...Whatever. Heh.

I got Napoleon Dynamite. It just wasn't funny. At all. I'm sure it sounded funny on paper, and the very concept sounds funny, but in practice... it's just sad.

Also, I find it funny that I'm one of the power-hungry cockmunches who admin this site, yet I don't really even know how to ban someone.

When have I ever been subtle?

Outstanding point.  I am feeling sensitive today.

Hmmm What do I find funny:
-There is a late night infomercial hosted by 2 midgets attempting to get people into their real estate thing.  This for some reason fills me with mirth (Ill try and get the website tonight)
-Blogs.  I love blogs, and have like 20+ bookmarked that I avidly cycle through everyday.  Especially the gaming ones, such as KillTenRats.
-College students.  Seriously, WTF.  I am a non traditional student (duh), and their personal problems humor the shit out of me.
-The fact that I am dating a 22 year old.  This for some reason makes me giggle inside (I am not that much older, and have dated younger. I just did not care about any of them before).
-F13 of course.

I find WOW funny.  Sarcasm.  People.  Most animals.  Small cars.  Trucks with more than 4 wheels.  The Daily Show.  Day Light Savings Time.  Monti Python.  The thought of Schild being stuck in a phone booth with QT.

Haem I find more insightful than funny.

Napoleon Dynamite was not funny. It wasn't even in the realm of funny. Oh finnuh. It was, to say the least, one of the most collosal wastes of an indie budget ever put on film. Tarantino could have improved it.

I thought White Castle was pretty decent, I actually preferred Eurotrip. But that's neither here nor there, I would say Super Troopers is the extreme oppisite of Napoleon.

Well, I have to say that Cheddar posting that excerpt from your blog was pretty funny in it's own way.

Napolean Dynamite... I found certain individual scenes really funny, but it just went on and on, and I really didn't care where it was going. So I turned it off after close to an hour.

It's not about Napoleon Dynamite, it's about censorship, dammit!  This was meant to be a thread wherein people list things that are funny to them, akin to the "Things I Hate" and "Things I Love" threads.

I actually am sorry I said hurtful things about Shockeye and Haemish. I didn't mean it, I was just licking my wounds after being pummeled for defending what I thought was a quality piece of comedy. I didn't think anyone even read my blog. Follow the link that says 'Scott' to read Sauced's awesome short review of Psychonauts (the man has a gift, I tell you, but he's too shy for his own good). He's a much better blogger than I.

I read your blog.

I thought the nerd bits in your post were funny.  I thought the wee bits I saw of Napoleon Dynomite were funny, too.  Righ thought Napoleon Dynomite was funny.  He actually saw the whole thing on TV... I only saw some clips.  I also think it's mean how people keep denning your threads, which mostly make me laugh.  (not the denning... the thread)

sometimes the denning makes me laugh

Joy in a Box. It's a really good teen stoner movie by the same guy who did Dude, Where's my Car? Which I know doesn't sound like an endorsement, but you have to have the right attitude.

I thought Dude Where's My Car was just too shitty to ever be funny.  Yet I enjoyed the hell out of Harold and Kumar, Eurotrip and Super Troopers.  I'm somewhat surprised I liked Eurotrip so much since it was a painfully BAD movie, like crossing the streams bad.  But it was just hillarius.  Wife loved it too.

I actually, umm, liked Napolean Dynamite.  But, I just love sound bite movies. I found much of it middling and slow, so I don't have the MTV generation man-love for the movie. But as a whole, it was worth seeing once.

I think everyone is thankful I don't have admin powers.  Ohh, the chaos I could unleash.

And ohh, to be more on topic:

Broken Lizard
Larry David
non-sensical humor (IE Sealab)
Kung Fu Hustle
people getting hit the in balls
watching MTV darlings fall to earth and crash (Ashlee Simpson, Fred Durst, etc)
religious right conservatives, scientologists, christian scientiests, militant atheists (pretty much any fundies that aren't blowing shit up personally)
reality tv shows being cancelled
college students (OMG I KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN EGYPTOLOGY 101, I HAVE!)
