Tiger shows off new maneBy staff writers 23sep05  WORLD No.1 Tiger Woods unveiled a new hairdo on two fronts overnight, featuring blonde patchy highlights on his head and goatee on his chin. Woods caused a stir during the opening ceremony for the sixth Presidents Cup in Florida when he walked in with the US team sporting shades and the new 'do. Fashionistas might not have rated it the best job, given the budget he would have had available. The highlights in his short cropped black hair resembled more a burnt fairway on an outback golf course than the tiger stripes he might have been hoping to create. Woods had kept his lighter coiffure under a cap for public appearances during most of the week as the US team prepared to take on an Internationals squad featuring five Australians in the biennial tournament. His golden locks didn't bring him the inspiration of the bleach applied to the skunk-do of England's Ashes hero Kevin Pietersen, however. Woods, renowned for his poor efforts in team golf competition, was beaten by Australian Adam Scott and South African Retief Goosen 4 and 3 in his opening match with partner Fred Couples. Mrs Woods, Elin Nordengren, was on hand with her rather more convincing blonde locks to give Woods a consoling kiss after the defeat, though, so it wasn't all bad news. US President George W. Bush was unable to attend the opening ceremony because of issues related to hurricanes Katrina and Rita. His father and former president George Bush was in attendance, however, alongside Bill Clinton. Tiger, you look like a dipshit. |
