I think Al will probably like to side with Wu becase Al has a big streak of Fuck the man attitude in him. The balance to this is he also is as pragmatic as all hell and if he needs to do away with Wu to deal with the san fancisco cocksucker he would shiv Wu himself if needed.

The previews don't look good- Wu seems to have brought a cleaver to a gunfight. Hopefully it won't cost him.

Would it still be cool if I haven't seen Lost before?

I'd rather just have a show with Pirates ALL THE TIME. Not just for a few episodes.

Not a big fan of ninjas. Sho Kusugi, yeah. Ninjas, no. Not even Lee Van Cleef can redeem them.

In other news, tonight is the season finale of the OC. The mom is a total alkie. And I think Julie Cooper is gonna get arrested for killing Caleb, even though she actually changed her mind about poisoning him at the last minute.

Deadwood's season finale knocked it out of the park.  Best episode of both seasons, and the funniest too.  Hell, one of the best episodes of TV I've probably ever seen.

And todays Robot Chicken totally made up for last weeks episode sucking.

Wow.  Great series of season finales for my sparse TV watching schedule.  Veronica Mars delivered what at the time I thought was the best season finale I've ever seen.   Then came CSI and it had itself probably the best episode of its 5 year run with a certain T guy directing.   Then Deadwood... it was like a TV Christmas List come to life.

*Spoilers below, but do I really need to warn at this time.  If you didn't watch it last night you aren't a fan!"

Wu wins. Cuts San Francisco cocksucka's throat.  Hang-dai!

Cy gets close to getting shot to hell.  Then gets a knife in the gut.  "God will not be mocked!"

Al wins the political battle with Yankton I don't give a shit about.

Wolcott does himself in.  Would have rather seen someone gut him.

Major Dad comes across as someone not completely moraly bankrupt.

Jane in a dress.  Everyone hootin' and hollerin'.

I really wish more Deadwood episodes would have been paced like this with this amount of action going on this season.  Hopefully next season they can get the ball rolling a bit sooner.

Do we know for sure that Wolcott died at his own hands? I would love to see a flashback next season of Hearst and Captain Turner 'encouraging' him into the noose.

Loved this episode.

EB is getting on my very last nerve. Way more info about his digestive crisis than I ever needed.
Tolliver has been playing fast and loose with some very dangerous people, and then gets his from a very unlikely source. Very cool.
What happened to Hostetler and the NG? I wanted to see them bring the horse back and face the music. Maybe for the season 3 premiere....

FUCK. No new Deadwood until March. Hopefully they will replay both seasons on HBO so I can see season 1.

Yah, I'll bet Wolcott died at his own hands.  My prediction is that one story arc is going to be Hearst scrambling to find out if a letter was actually written.

By the way, does it look like Powers Boothe put on 30 years from when he did Tombstone???

The real big question for me is what legendary western characters show up next season.  Bat Masterson and a few others historically hit Deadwood for a while during it's heydey.

There was also a bit of foreshadowing that Alma Garrett's relations will be showing up to try and get her claim.

Swearengen referring to Bullock as "His Holiness" was cracking me up.

Nice bookend to the season:  ending with Al taunting Bullock from the balcony, just as it began.

MARCH? FUCK. That's as bad as the Shield. Do 13 episodes and call it quits for a year.

I agree about the Deadwood finale. It was just fantastic from start to finish. It had a lot less bombast than you expect from season finales, but the quiet moments were where the most impactful events took place. Wolcott's apparent suicide. The signing of the Yankton document. The handing of the letter to Garrett.

EB is the Shakespearean foil character, the one who repeats what are essentially stage directions, but gives the actions he's reporting on some context. You don't see that in visual mediums like flim or TV much, because why would you? Just show the action, don't have someone describe it. But it gives a great deal of character moments to the narrative, and gives the audience a new perspective. I like EB.

The Shield and House's season finales are tonight. I will miss watching these shows during rerun season, but it'll be nice to have all that time opened up to write and play games.

I think EB is funny as hell in small to moderate doses.  I liked everything except W's suicide, jumping out the window in the background while the camera was focused on a largely irrelevant side character.  I would have liked to see more focus, especially with the foreshadowing of his suicide with his shaving scene a few weeks back.  Wu = chinese-american robot baby jesus.

That Shield episode wasn't the Season Finale. It was good, except for the feeling of a happy ending which tied together a bit too neatly.

Based upon the previews, that happy ending will unravel.

Anyone else disappointed with season finale of Lost? A bunch of extra (mostly useless) flashbacks, and barely any plot movement? It just seemed like an extra-long normal episode. I wanted to see some sort of resolution on ANY of the plots (although I guess the Arzt plot is pretty much done).

Lost is starting to feel like a 1 trick pony ala Twin Peaks. Doubt it will last beyond next season.

I thought the Lost thing was just about exactly like they have been all season. I did appreciate the flashbacks, because some of them were necessary, like the scene in the bathroom with Jin. The only gratuituous scene was the slow-mo of them boarding the plane at the end. I knew they wouldn't actually show us what was in the hatch, though. That was just too good a cliffhanger to resolve. I'm only hoping it doesn't go all X-Files on us and resolve nothing EVER. I can stand being strung along until the season premiere, but there should be something resolved and revealed.

I imagine some of the backstory scenes were put there because it wasn't originally supposed to be 3-hours for the season finale (the 2 hour show and last week's).

You just cut me. Deep. They couldn't resolve anything in X-Files. It was an X-File. 99% of TV wishes it could be as deep or well done as that show. I'm tempted to call you Ms. Thang. But I won't.

I'm no X-Files fanboi and will be the first to admit that the show progressively turned to shit after Season 5 and a more than great TV to Movie leap. Lost however, HAS to be resolved. Simply because the series revolves around a resolution (as does all the other JJ Abrams shit). Which is to say, I agree, I hope they don't pull an X-Files, though X-Files had a good reason to do what it did. Lost simply wouldn't.

No, X-Files didn't have a good reason, IMO. Well, other than whoring out the show since it was Fox's only Sci-fi hit. After the movie, which I liked, it just devolved into total shit. Sure, the PREMISE was that the X-Files were unexplainable, but storyteller has to eventually find an ending, or you get silly continuity breaks like superhero comics or you just lose the audience. That show should have ended when Duchovny wanted to leave. Even the Twin Peaks movie, as out there as it was, resolved more of the story than X-Files ever did.

Lost still has time. They could reveal a good bit and still have lots of storytelling room. The characters are so well done, there could be a season worth of character interaction alone.
