I AM GOING TO WRESTLE THIS BEAR WITH MY BARE HANDS!

on: January 04, 2016, 06:20:10 AM

Dwarf Fortress: Orubxah
Book 1: Coalheart
Chapter 1: New Beginnings

Chapter 2: Migrant Bargain Sale
Chapter 3: Wagon Woes
Chapter 4: Nerf Goes Bananas
Chapter 5: Mischievous Magpie
Chapter 6: The Seductive Horde
Chapter 7: Forever Threading
Chapter 8: Divine Protection
Chapter 9: Uninvited Guests
Chapter 10: It's Raining Men

________________________________________________________________________________
How has it been almost three years since I stared Torchfatal? I must rectify this:

Orubxah, The Everlasting Dimensions

Tried a whole bunch of different world paramiters to try and gen an interesting world. Turns out in this one Dwarfs and Kobolds are all but extinct, Elves committed mass genocide and killed everyone on the east island that wasn't an Elf or a Red Squirrel Man, and in the west the Human Noble minority rule over a Goblin exile populace clashed in a perpetual war with the Demon-lead Goblin civilizations. Luckily for us, the Dwarf civilization The Halls of Ash still have a few dwarfs wandering the world, and so it's still Fortress Mode compatible. The last of the old Dwarf strongholds fell to giant Roc's and it's populace hunted by The Midnight of Spiraling, will we fall to the same fate?

I'm not sure what my schedule for this will be as I have much less leisure time then I did a few years ago, but at least the world is genned so I can jump right in when I have the chance (hopefully within the next week). At least now adventure mode is fixed so after the fort I'll have better story to tell then last time.

Be sure to list tools, mods, and graphics packages used.

And I want to be mayor.

I'd also like to not be the arch vampire that took down the civilization this time. Oh and I'd like to be a dude.

I usually play vanilla, but people did like the graphics pack I used last time... The problem is since I'm playing 42.04 I'm not sure they've been updated yet. I used LegendsViewer-1.14.02 to generate the stats and poke around for interesting information.

I'll try to set you up as the expedition leader.

Didn't you give birth last time? Did you not enjoy the wonders of motherhood?

Nothing beats pump operator, bucket duty, or designated lever puller.  Of course, pump operator can have a short lifespan depending on the degree of engineering fail.  Lever puller can lead an interesting life he he neglects to hit the lever in time.  awesome, for real

When you play the Game of Ian, you either win or you die. You die a filthy, dwarfish death.

... wait, can you even win at this game?

I'm a miner with Samwise and Sky? No wonder you're not finding anything. Sky only knows how to chop wood, I count it, and Samwise makes glib remarks.

Usually mayors just retire to a quiet life of bookkeeping and trading. A don't see a coup in your future.

Although perhaps I will surprise.  Maybe one of the captains is in line for a promotion...

I'm just waiting for you to go into a strange mood and demand turtle bones, inevitably go mad and then on a rampage.  Then I can run around drunk and naked screaming I AM THE LAW as you beat me to death with your fists because i was probably never trained to use weapons.  It'll be good times.

Whoo Boy am I looking forward to a hospital visit with Merusk in charge.  I am sure any bone setting will be painless.  Hope the booze is fully stocked!

What's this Bone Setting voodoo, are you some kind of elf?

Cut? Pour Beer on it.

I'm disappointed Rasix survived his tenure as leader instead of dying heroically fighting off a savage bass.

In the immortal words of Sid James ;  "What a carve up."

This place isn't a fortress, it's an abattoir.
