Ask and receive.  I'll try to erase the Winehouse stink with this one.

I need to remember to put that movie on my Netflix.  I've seen two or three bands use it as a reference so it's got to have some sort of redeeming quality.

Question for the day: How many people have to say "NO!" to a part before you ask Britney?

Having viewed scenes from the original in some film documentary years ago, acting isn't the primary requirement for the role.

Or secondary, come to think of it.

Why the fuck would you remake Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill? Tits, guns, death, gore, fast cars... you can't write an "original" story around those constants? And you call yourself a writer?

Of course, having seen Kill Bill, he couldn't make a decent movie out of "samurai chick slaughters her former assassin buddies" so there's probably no real hope he has any talent left.

That picture of her looks a hell of a lot better than some of the pictures of her when she was in a bad way but somehow even less like her than they did. The bad shots looked like Britney having massively collapsed. This looks like a fairly normal woman (albeit not one in a great mood) but not her.

And I just realised I've spent a good 30 seconds analysing a picture of Britney Spears. Well at least reading the discussion of directorial techniques and their development was interesting, I'm curious though to what extent people classifying using techniques pioneered by someone else constitutes an homage or 'ripping them off'. Obviously there are cases where this is true, Tarantino being a prime and recently referenced one but I can see directors using techniques that have been used a lot before in order to achieve a somewhat different effect or even simply as part of a very different whole.

I guess to make an analogy, the fact that a poet decides to write in iambic pentameter doesn't necessarily make his work an homage to Shakespeare or that he copied him, though obviously it can do. I'm open to reasons why this isn't the way to view it.

And I feel like my post is saved from utter vapidness...

Lastly, we are sad to update that apparently rumors of Britney Spears playing a lesbian killer in Tarantino's Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! are false.

Of course the Faster Pussycat rumor was bullshit.  It's been well known that he's working on Inglorious Bastards right now and given the rate at which he releases movies, it would be a little crazy to think the he's working on another movie at the same time.
