Also, cigs and Red Bull...what kind of detox is that?

Never been to rehab I guess? ;)

Actually, it's usually cigs and coffee. And lots.

Same for AA meetings.

Quote from: msnbc
Britney Spears is rehabbing in style — and privacy.

The “Toxic singer” reportedly booked an entire wing for herself at Promises, the Malibu clinic where she’s hoping to detox.
...
The singer wants to avoid mixing with other patients, according to the paper, but another source says she’s equally concerned about stories being leaked to the media.

This shit is why she will not kick anything, and only get worse. I will laugh with glee when she gets the choking-on-her-own-vomit death she completely deserves. Stupid rich twat with little talent, less common sense, and even less humility.

Note to Christina Aguilera: If you're going to show off your pussy to the world, please do it before you become a chubby, insane junkie who's shot a kid through it.

I wouldn't be too worried about Christina going down the same path...

She had a little hiccup a few years ago (Dirrty, anyone?) in which she looked like she was turning to shit, but it was apparently just poor management.  She's got an incredible voice and she seems to have a fairly good head on her shoulders.  I won't go so far as to say she's "classy"... but when compared to the likes of Spears... she pretty much is.

More shit happened this past weekend:
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Britney Spears allegedly attempted to kill herself over the weekend by trying to hang herself with a bed sheet in her room at the Promises Residential Treatment Center.

The ordeal began when she terrified staff by writing the number of the beast on her head and running around the clinic screaming, "I am the anti-christ!" "The clinic people just didn't know what to do," a friend claimed."

So far though these two incidents are only discussed in a British tabloid and that is the source other places are referring to. Soooo...while I believe she is having a meltdown these specifics should be taken with a grain of salt IMO.

Obviously. No way that Britney is bright enough to fashion a knot to hang herself with. Of course, that may be why she failed.

Solid points. I do hope she gets better for her kid's sake. Still, he neglects to discuss the fact that when you try to whore yourself out to the media spotlight, it's a two-faced bitch goddess.

I was sort of shocked at all the information about what she does and what happens inside the rehap centre.  Somehow, I don't think it's in the best interest of your patient to report on that sort of gossipy rubbish.

Its probably not in the best interest of sick people to check into a celebrity spa rather than a credible psychiatric institution.

Thanks for that link. I heard something about him not mocking her when it happened, but that was actually a very moving monologue. ++ Ferguson fandom.

It was a good monologue. I just think it fell apart mainly because the subject, Miss Britney, has done everything she can to BE hounded by the same people she's now so stressed about. Almost instant karma.

It went from British to Scottish =P

It seems to have softened a bit over the years in the States. Is that what you are talking about?

From British to Scottish?   shocked

I've seen some of those old whatchamadoogie shows he was in over here with Drew Carey.  I can't remember the name!  On a few occassions I saw him switch from posh English tof to Scottish in the same sentence.  He seems to do it on purpose.  I think it amuses him.

Oh for god's sake.  I just googled it.  It's the Drew Carey Show.  D'oh!

Heh good point...ENGLISH to Scottish. I get to play the role of Ugly American today, apparently. The funny thing is I almost changed it to English before I posted. Mea Culpa.

He wonders what it was like when he did stand-up drunk.  I saw him as Bing Hitler back then, and it was bloody hilarious.  Robin Williams, likewise, was great when he was on coke.  He should really try using it again.

Is Ferguson something of a celebrity on late-night US telly now?  Coincidentally I noticed a Craig Ferguson on a panel of a US political talkshow last week and wondered if his work on that awful hairdressing movie had somehow helped him break the American market.

He's a fairly big deal now. He took over the Late Late Show on CBS a couple of years back and seems to have grown its popularity somewhat. His monologues are usually pretty much unscripted and often amusing. I once saw his (and Peter Capaldi's) band The Dreamboys play in a West End bar back in the early 80s. Not so good. I liked his film Saving Grace though.
