This game is crazy fun, much much more than it should be.

It's a top down pixel art rougelike.  It has some pretty difficult moments and each time you die you have to restart the dungeon.  Each map is randomized except for the daily challenge, which you can only attempt once.

The game is "pseudo" turn based where you and the monsters move at the same time, but if you and a monster try to move in the same spot then you take damage, so you have to move into the monsters spot when they aren't trying to move at your spot to damage them.  All the monsters move in very predictable patterns, for example blue slimes only move one up then one down over and over again, skeletons only move one space after doing jazz hands,  etc..    Each time you kill an enemy you get a multiplier to your coin drops, which you can then use at the shop keeper on each dungeon floor to buy upgrades.

The trick (and difficulty) is that each turn occurs on the beat of the music forcing you to take action quickly or risk either taking damage, or losing your coin multiplier.

It's hard to fully describe how well designed the game is.  The music is fantastic, the enemies work very well for the game style, the weapons work well, and it's just a ton of fun.  There are supposedly multiple characters to unlock but I haven't gotten any of them unlocked yet, the game is hard unless you are really good at thinking in between quick beats, and remember to use your items (like bombs, which I always forget to use).

Also, for anyone who has friends over it has local co-op!

Buy it, for sure.

Bought it last week.  It's as difficult as it is fun to play.  I beat the second level a couple of days ago, but I'm completely failing to make any progress with the third, which is refreshing after cakewalking through the last few games I played.

Nice to see the front page updated, by the way.

 DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Play as Bard for easy mode.  Really helps you get the patterns down when you can stop and think about them.  Once you at least understand what you're trying to do to deal with each monster, switch back to Cadence and try to do it in real time.

I'm still stuck at Zone 2 with Cadence.  It's so difficult and yet it succeeds in making me immediately I died due to my own stupidity, which keeps making me go again.

I only just realized the bard character.  Felt like cheating but yeah, much easier (and pretty good for gem farming since it feels like you have more time to find the hidden gems in the walls).

This is 75% off on steam right now. I jumped at that price.

I bought this a while back, but did not get a chance to dig into it until this last week.  Insanely fun.  Challenging, but keeps me coming back to try again.  I just made it to the boss in Zone 3 and *almost* cleared it.  I find it easiest to play on a gamepad, setting the ABXY buttons to mirror the d-pad, making it easier to do the UP+LEFT, etc combo actions.

ProTip: go into settings and set the soundtrack to Random so you get more variety of music -- there are *four* complete remixes of all the level soundtracks...

I think I talked to him when we were playing Warhammer Online (if it's the same guy). He made me listen to some of his things and I really liked it.
