The Onslaught mode game play with the vehicles looked interesting, but I actually like the Battlefield series of unlocks.

This is in a better position than Quake Live if it doesn't suck simply because they lifted skins and such from LoL.

This is pretty good outside of the obscenely long respawn times on weapons, the rocket launcher being like a zillion times better than all other weapons (like standard for arena FPS titles but way way the case here), and the default mouse sensitivity and acceleration being literally Hitler.  Also character model design is awful.

Still a lot of fun though.

The rocket launcher is so fucking good. The game is creatively bankrupt. Balance is a disaster.

That said, worth it.

Every weapon that isn't the rocket launcher needs work. There's an assault rifle/grenade launcher thing called the "violator" (ugh) and a pulse gun/shockcannon combo without the cool synergy between primary/secondary called the stingray.

Violator fires fast-moving bullets, secondary uses the same ammo pool to launch grenades. Stingray fires slightly slower energy shots at pretty much the same rate of fire with a railgun laser shot as the secondary.

These guns work almost exactly the same way and have a teeny-tiny ammo pool so like 3 seconds of shooting runs you completely out of ammo which is very sparely placed in the level. Both guns need changed badly to be more unique. Start pistol sucks shit. Not Q3A machinegun useless, but still really lame compared to UT's enforcer. Shotgun is bad and fires ridiculously slow. Sniper Rifle feels really really bad. Flamethrower is useless. Pretty much the only gun that doesn't fire slower than it should is the rocket launcher which owns the shit out of all the weapons because rocket launcher and its ammo pool is far more efficient.

Absolutely pointless cloak that lasts 2 seconds is present for some reason.

In general ammo needs to be a LOT  more prevalent and not stacked in random groups for like 3 different weapons. For obviously wanting to be a new UT99 they didn't study their map design very well. Weapon respawn times are hideously long which encourages camping.

Yet strangely, still a whole lot of fun.
