When it comes time to choose his afterlife, he had better switch his choice to the other door.

Heh, quality comment.

Ralphie May of Last Comic Standing fame died of a cardiac arrest...age 45. Crazy this guy was only a year older than me.

I thought a lot of Ralphie May's stuff was hilarious but I've been mourning his untimely death since I first saw him.

I highly doubt you've done anywhere near the amount of cocaine the average comedian does, so you should probably be good for a little while longer.

Cocaine + other drugs + Decades-long severe obesity that started in his teenage years.

He may have lost a lot of weight since his bypass in 2003 but he was still morbidly obese and near 400# when he died because he was just that big. At his peak he was near 800#. Adding cocaine to that mix is begging to die before you're 50.

Lets not get carried away.  It's sad that he's gone and I kind of liked some of his music but the reaction to his passing has been kind of obscene.

Martin Ain, bassist with Celtic Frost died today. He was a sort of friend of mine as I knew him via my girlfriend. He ran a number of bars and nightclubs in Zürich and MCed a live-band rock karaoke night every week.

RIP Martin.

So, Scott Putesky, AKA Daisy Berkowitz from Marilyn Manson, passed away at age 49 after fighting stage 4 colon cancer for the last few years.  He played guitar on their earlier albums, including the cover of Sweet Dreams.

Roy Halladay, a former MLB pitcher with Toronto and Philadelphia, died yesterday as a result of a plane crash.  He was only 40.  As a Jay's fan, he was one of my favourite players and the greatest pitcher in franchise history.  I was disappointed he didn't win a World Series after being traded to the Phillies even though he pitched pretty well for them, even throwing only the second no hitter in MLB post season history.  He and his wife did a lot of charity work off the field and he just seemed like a nice guy that everyone respected.

Just scant decades after his career died.

I am old enough to remember when Cassidy and Leif Garrett were all the rage, so I am probably not far behind  Heartbreak
