Zaha Hadid, famous female Architect and the first female to win the Pritzker prize for architecture on her own merit died of a sudden heart attack last night at 65.

Ah shit. My dad liked him when I was growing up and I didn't think twice about him until grad school. He was at a show in Lafayette, LA and a few of my buddies made the trek to see him. I left with a new appreciation for him.

My dad was a huge fan, too.  His favourite country stars ever are Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard.  I actually don't mind listening to most of their stuff (esp. Cash) even though I'm not a country fan at all.  It's way better than any of the "new country" hot garbage.  Kind of the same way I feel about rap.  I can listen to and enjoy some of the older rap artists like NWA and Tupac but this new rap/hip hop is 99% Gunk.
