LOL Jeff Hickman.  Where have I heard THAT name before.  As for the game, never cared about it, thought it was a dumb idea and good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'd say their strategy now is to build up SWTOR and have a big reveal when the new movie comes out.  Of course, new players will be disappointed that instead of playing in JJ Abrams SW universe, they are playing in Revanrevanrevanrevanland.
SWTOR is a mediocre MMO that I happen to like playing every six months or so, so I'm glad it will see much love at any rate.

Must be slightly humiliating to get shunted from producing original IP to making hats for SWTOR's cash shop.

Meh. Better to work on a mediocre trash game than to work on something that'll never materialize.

BioWare would be kind of dumb to not try to capitalize on all these new Star Wars movies that will be out in the next few years.

Over and out.

As much as I have been a Bioware fanboy in previous years (and I liked SWTOR to a certain extent, for the story bits at least)...they really need to get the fuck out of this pre-trilogy era.  I think we've all had enough of the bright and shiny golden ages of the old republic, where everyone and everything is covered with every color of the rainbow.  We need a return to the grittier, somewhat darker version of Star Wars.  Like a Bioware single player RPG set sometime after ANH.  I would shit my pants for such a game.

I believe all those colours are why kids are playing that piece of shit. Grittier universe is why me and you would play it, and it would be canceled six months later.

Note that I specifically said single player.  A Bioware single player RPG set after ANH would sell forty quadrillion copies.

How bad does a game have to be to get shitcanned so the team can add content to an F2P Also-ran to WoW?
Considering the stellar reception the idea received here when it was announced, I'd say pretty bad.

Hahahaha!  I'm really good at this!

But it is a F2P also-ran that has a major movie tie-in coming up, so...

I think it needs to be repeated, however.

I was a huge Bioware fanboy but after DA2, SWTOR, and Red/Green/Blue I have zero interest in any of their games. I got DA3 for Christmas and it's still unopened.

For reasons I can't explain, I loved Dragon Age 1 and 2, but I can't get into Dragon Age 3. I tried, tried, and tried. I am sure I will try again and eventually get hooked... eventually. At the moment, every excuse is good to play something else. Hell, I just started Final Fantasy XIII-2 and enjoying it a lot. Not so much Dragon Age 3. Weird.

To me, 3 is a lot different than 2 and 1.  It's more "big budget" and it borrows more heavily from a style of game that the first two were not.  I can see how someone might not like it while liking the first two in the series. That being said, I like it and hope they put out some decent DLC for it.   I'm looking for a reason to go back to continue my rogue playthrough, although I'm currently enamored with another game.

This game was out of left field.  I'm not surprised it isn't going forward, and I can hazard a guess that games similar to it are going to bomb hard.

SWTOR's yearly revenue is somewhere north of $100 million. Refocusing on it doesn't seem like a bad play. On Shadow Realms, I suspect the 4 vs. 1 thing was just too hard to balance/make fun.

SWTOR's immensely profitable for what it is.
